OK I managed to answer my own question seeing as nobody else knew, see the my post on the previous page.

My mate recieved the E6300 Retail boxed around 3PM this afternoon (yesterday now because its past midnight lol). Funny thing is that he only received the despatch e-mail after the box arrived, so he found it real helpful to be told at 4PM that the box was loaded into the van at 7AM :rolleyes:. I'm heading round on Sunday to build it and do some OCing for him.

So it looks like OcUK do now have nearly the entire range either as OEM or Retail. The E6300 is now listed as 1-3 days but the OEM is available again. Interesting shinanigans going on there so I think I'll be getting mine elsewhere, probably Micro Direct as they have the DS3 and DS4 for cheaper as well.

Still not decided on the RAM as well. I like the look of the G.Skill 2GBNR as you get DRR2 800 for dirt cheap. The NS is also attractive because it is slightly cheaper and apparently designed for intel systems, with the added bonus that it fits in with my colour scheme. The reported problems with the DS3 are annoying though and I don't know if that carries over to the DS4. The TG stuff looks great as well but availability in the UK is nil except for the PC2 6400 4-4-4-10.

Oooooh... the fun I'll have Tuniq Tower 120 and the E6600 ;)

Similar setup here and seem to have hit 'the wall' also.

vcore at 1.4, MCH at 1.6. Tried relaxing the timings to 5,5,5,15 but still no go.
Temps seem ok CPU=26 degrees.

Any other ideas?

From a 9200se to an X1900XT is a big leap.
Have you managed to figure out the problem? My best guess, and I use that term loosely, is it is motherboard related. You never know and it may be something else. If I was you, I would return the P5wDH Deluxe and get a different board.
I'm waiting for the MSI 975X Platinum Powerup Edition myself.

I don't know man but I think I just have a crap cpu now. I mean it's nothing new, I always end up with the :banana::banana::banana::banana:ters when I pay good money for cpus. It's only when I buy celerons that I get good clockers... :stick:

I've done the CMOS reset for an hour but it didn't do anything. The thing is I bought my P5W on the 19th of July... so what are my options? Is it RMA?

Depends who you bought it from. If it's within a month (30 days I think) then you can easily send it back I think. Depends who you bought it from.

Last week my 6800gt bite the dust and it seems to have taken out the agp port with it (there was smoke lol) anyway i borrowed my mums old putter which i built her years ago so i could still read forums etc (xp1700 256mb gf4mx440)any way i was not to gutted that my sys went wrong because i was for upgrading soon, and if any of you guys are married you will understand that having a excuse to get new parts is handy lol. I thought that i would just wait and build a new conroe system.

i am hoping to oc to about 3.3 on stock Intel cooler for very stable 24/7operation and i had to keep the cost down so went for the 7900gt which was the only part i was not certain i wanted. I ended up going for it because i only have a 19" monitor so i don't play games at a uber high res. Gratz...I have a question now...My E6600 order from NCIX went from a "pending order" where for a couple weeks it was hanging up on "Product Avaliability" and is now in "Recent Order" category. Does that mean it's shipped?

Nice system. The only thing I would have done different if I were in your shoes was to order from dabs.com Probably would have saved about £50 odd quid. Maybe a bt more.

I'm gonna order an E6600, MSI 975X PowerUP mobo and a 320GB Seagate HDD.
The difference between DABS and OcUK for the exact same parts = £50 cheaper from DABS.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your system. A 7900 GT is a great card, I doubt you will have any regrets about it.

Hi

When i first got my P5W DH, i hit a brick at this point. Taking off the chipset heatsinks and replacing the stock TIM with decent stuff sorted them out good and proper, now Rosetta'ing at 430mhz FSB and climbing up.

Give that a go ;)

North and South? Does the north have sticky pads on the top of cooling heatpipe bit?

I did north and south, but south is probably not necessary. The Northbridge has TIM, and the PWMs have sticky tape. I replaced both with paste, although most say the PWM Tape doesn't need replacing. But what the hell, cooler the better right?

mmm, may try that but not atm. I think it's more just a crap clocking cpu I got...

mmm, much better to leave the stock pad on the mosfets because the surface is very even, paste doesnt spread properly, the pads are designed to squish into all the little gaps..

Primed for a little bit, atleast it's a start.. even though the clock's kinda disappointing it's still blazingly quick..

erm it's quite old now

it's a fujifilm finepix f401 with macro mode enabled. The pic of the conroe was only at 2mp so at 4mp it'd look even more clear ;)

Ok mate I await you results, If the celly works then it could be the bios chip but the chip has worked for other people... I also have the new bios chip from Asus which is unmarked, just has "Winbond" or something on it and some other stuff. Hmm these are good boards when they aren't DOA :stick: Will probably switch it out for the DFI RD600 one though when its available...

Anyone gone for an MSI 975X Powerup yet? Would be interested to see results...
