I had thought about that too when his numbers went down. He dropped off line the week before the floods started so I hope he has been affected from something else not so catastrophic.

Well the clean up has started in Queensland and northern New South Wales, but the flood waters are still to hit north-western Victoria. Here in central west NSW it's just the usual fires (and me with a banged up shoulder :shakes: )
Me thinks I may have gotten MyDog's pie today.
Woot! My biggest piece of pie yet!!!

What does it take to get a part of the pie? Im thinking hardware wise? Im getting my hands on 2x48core AMD servers within long, and im thinking to stress-test them a week or something with wcg ;) Is it enough you think?
A few months should do it :D

Thanks Rise! Probably my last piece for a while. I have to cut power consumption by 25 KWH per day till the end of the month so I'll only be running 3 rigs. @#$&*# CA, :( On the plus side I'll be building a 3rd SB over the weekend. Hopefully it will draw less than 100W as reported in the other thread.

:welcome: Hypernova, Watch those calories now :yepp:
I'm kinda glad I don't get pie........Those pies mess my eyes up
Hey sam, not a product of the 60's are you? :D I sort of expect them to be titled "Far out"
Woohoo!
Popped my cherry :D
When you're eating as much pie as the venerable HamsterMaster, THEN we can start wondering about your waistline.

Damn whats it take to get a little slice 12-980x?
1-980x and 6-920s arent doing it yet, may have to turn on some more... Just added 2 yesterday so it might get there in a day or so...

Diet today:(, feast tomorrow:)
Just wondering. What happened to ddtung who was a major contributor and nearly disappeared.
I think his working environment became less hospitable towards crunching
http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/a07d0cd1.png
I got a sliver...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...-28_223027.jpg
And to think a while ago I thought I had a shot at getting a sliver of pie. HAH yeah right

Looks like Biker has joined the tour-de-force
If we look at the pie, I wonder what is the pie share of amateur members (crunching at home) compared to professional ones (crunching at the office, company servers, desktops etc.)
For what I know Hypernova and trn-XS are in the amateur category, and if only them, then the ratio would be:
Amateur: 41.3%
Pro's : 58.7%
But others may be amateur which would improve the ratio.:)
As far as I'm aware, XS is pretty much ALL amateur crunchers.
And most of the top producing amateur crunchers are members here or frequent here. Hypernova is the top amateur, myself and biker are next, everyone else in the top 25 daily output is crunching with company/university computers.
Not so. ;) My personal rigs are quite capable of top ten output. The limiting factor is living in Commiefornia with it's own Cap and Tax system for energy use. If I lived in Texas or NH, pie would be on the menu everyday. :yepp: As it is, pie should be on the menu for a week to ten days. Today is the 1st so I fired my idle rigs up about 8:00 last night. :yepp:
Sounds like the stats will be getting a little Attachment 111739
Small bump. Hopefully it will come up a little more. :) A bigger slice of pie is always relished. :p: More entries in PV jail. :(

You cleared yesterday what I clear a WEEK.
Someone dumped a load of hexes on me... what's a cruncher to do? :DQuote:
Looks like Biker has joined the tour-de-force
Also my power bill is going up 20% in a month's time so I will have to scale back
as there is *no way* i can afford or justify nearly £200 a month just running crunchers...
If it is getting to the point that I cannot afford to turn on the hot water for a shower because of these 11 rigs I am running then I guess it is time to urgently get professional help
Don't
I have been plotting that one for weeks...
Simply not feasible due to lack of space.
Ahh! I misunderstood.
Tonight's pie. 7 slices are all awful thin.

It is really a hard fight to keep the crown. trn-XS is a very challenging competitor. :D
nonsense :p: I only have 16 hexa's and a 2 quads running, and at an average lower clocks than you. My farm does seem to be a bit more problem free and I also never shut anything down; even if I'm away from home for a month or more; slow and steady wins the race :yepp:
And I have Biker breathing down my neck these days
Still if I look at the daily results we are very near. This means that you are more efficient. Maybe you run Linux which is faster, I am on W7. Maybe you run one project only like HCC with short cycles and very fast validation time. I have 17 Hexas dedicated running 24/7. Then I have 1 Hexa running 24/7 but not exclusive, and 3 quads but which run intermittently.
Hey, that's MY idea - I came up with that a few years ago, ask anyone in IRC
Still planning on doing that, if and when I ever get to build my own house. Right now it's not looking that likely to happen in next few years though...
Oh, and sorry for my lack of output these past days and weeks, most of my Duallies have been encoding Bluray Movies to h264, which takes a while even on an SR-2 (about 25-35 FPS depending on quality settings; takes probably a day on a "normal" system  )
You have "normal" systems?
I don't understand what's going on here with this thread , it shows me 115 pages but i'm always at page 113 and can't access these 2 last pages ??
Either we're encountering the forum limit or Sparky did something wrong
Says to me your post is on page 114... thread shows 115, which I can't access either
man... PIE Looks delicious... Keeps getting harder and harder to get some! I am hoping with the servers that I fire up here in the next few days I'll have my first ever piece... we'll see ;)
Pie around here is like "tail" in the Supermodel house. No way, no how is this little black duck ever gonna get any :shakes:
Hell, I'll be happy with some crumbs!
gives a whole new meaning to "ass pie" I suppose ;)
psst... everyone slow down just a little for the next few days :D
I missed out on pie yesterday :(
I had 2 rigs run out of w/u's and were idle for a day before I found them:upset:
I always download 5 days worth of work and update it every couple days but its been crazy around here and I let it go 3 days. I guess I need to start d/l 8 days of work just to cover when I get too busy, sorry guys:shrug:
well... so much for my attempt at some pie... I just blew a breaker testing these servers... and I had 3 core 2 duo's and 7 p4 2.8 ht's in the back running WCG as well... But When the breaker blew the wife flipped out and said I need to load test one at a time then shut it off... I put up a fight but those married know how that usually works for the husband :(
All you pie munchers enjoy it, I'll be there some day ;)
Perhaps running some on a different circuit?
Also, it may be better to ask for forgiveness than permission. ;)
If you are in for points check WCG HFCC forum. There is about 2+ months to go on the project and it has developed a generous streak. I was crunching HFCC exclusive for about a week before and yesterday I got double points. It isn't a PV Jail thing either.
It seems that watercooling won against air cooling at least for now. ;)
Well, I'm led to believe it's that much quieter at least.

Yellow jersey for Biker:up:
Woo :)
Sadly this is only due to half of trn's farm being offline
Considering that there are plenty of teams that combined get less than Fallwind in the dailies, top spot here is really something.
