NB voltage?
My NB temp is at 56C
Idle
33C for the CPU
Core 1-44,Core 2-43,Core 3-43, Core 4-42
Load
62C for the CPU
Core 1-71,Core 2-70,Core 3-72, Core 4-72
Whats the best BIOS now a days? MF or RF...

To update my situation once more. Following settings do not work. I get stuck at Det DRAM but I'm pretty sure it's not the DRAM since it runs around 1000MHz quite fine.
6*450 (just to test the FSB first, before upping the multi)
333 Strap
PCIE 110
Mem 901 5-5-5-15 (rest auto)
DRAM static read: disabled
AI clock: auto
Transboosta: auto
CPU volt 1.4
CPU PPL auto
NB 1.59
DRAM 2.3 (spec is 2.4, maximus adds another 0.1v)
FSBT 1.4
SB auto
Loadline Cal - Disabled
GTL Ref - 0.63x
NB Ref - 0.67x
SB 1.5 - 1.5
Spread spectra - Disabled

I'm seriously clueless what I can possibly do to make that FSB go any higher.
Temps on 3.6GHz (400*9)are 30 idle, 48 load so a lower clock shouldn't generate more heat (6x 450-500 for example).
It's the FSB that locks above 440 somehow.
Specs again:
ASUS Maximus Formula Special Edition (1407)
Intel E8400 C0
4x1GB OCZ FlexXLC PC2-6400 CL3 (runs stable around 1000MHz CL5)
Cheers and thanks in advance,
Thanks for your quick reply.
What's the "PL" number? Do you mean CPU PPL?
I'll play around a bit more.
ok having issue with this! says on page 1 that this is for P5e as well yeah. so here my frob everytime i follow instruction the the letter....... it comes up saying could not open rom file while in bootup dos? tried different rom files, reset all my overclocks back to defult but nothing? some help would be awsome. cheers guys
ignore my last post figured it out now!!! forgot to add space at the end lmao!!! cheers for that he's to hopefully overclocking my e8200 further than 3.8!!!
Another basic reason you can get "DET RAM" error is because the set value for your memory voltage is set too low.
Case in point my memory modules have a EPP for 1200mhz@2.2volts + timings, however if I try to run all for sticks at the lowest JEDEC value of 800mhz@1.8 it wont boot with all for sticks installed, it will boot with tow DIMs installed but at that voltage but not all four.
would I be able to flash my rampage board to a maximus? i bought it as a rampage.
hi guys, i'm new here :D
sorry for that post but i have not found smth really useful for my case(just that flashing p5e3 dlx to premium wifi doesent work)
any feedback about upgrading p5e3 premium wifi ap @n to a rampage or rampage extreme?
thanks :)
No, you can't use easy flash. You'll need a bootable floppy or other removable drive with afudos 236u (preferably) and the bios you want to flash to
Syntax:
afu236u /i1201.rom /n /pbnc
1201 is an example of the bios version you want to flash.I'm interested in knowing your results. Of course, you are responsible for your own endeavors.
Curious, what's wrong with EZ flash?
I know we''ve seen these all before but I finally ripped my mobo apart after having problems.....

I didn't even use the hairdryer... The stock cooler quite litureally fell off when I took the pins and screws out... And only 1 mosfet cooler was making contact :shakes:

Yeah from that angle it looked like the cooler was having a short-fest on your board :D It'll be a bummer to finally assemble all your stuff and get the dreaded "cpu init." Oh, this is a nice project: The Real Elemental Dragon  You do a nice job. Asus does manage to screw you when you least expect it. Gosh, wish I had 2x 4870 x2s.
Wouldn't surprise me tbh - Asus screwed me over so many times already and that board I suspect is dying..... This is my las resort and so peeved at Asus I don't ever want to try RMA'ing ever again....

@Allubz:
Your settings:
6*475
RAM @ 950 5-5-5-15
PCI Freq: 110
CPU Volt: 1.45
PPL: 1.6
NB: 1.65
DRAM: 2.3
FSBT/VTT: 1.4
SB: Auto
Loadline: Auto
CPU GTL: 0.63x
NB GTL: 0.67x
DDR Ref voltages: Auto
SB 1.5 Volt: 1.5
---------------
My 5 cents on those:
First flash it to Rampage! Your wasting your time, Maximus bios: my maximum POST was +- 500FSB. Rampage Bios lets me boot windows @ 570FSB!.
533FSB rock stable on 1.36 voltage for cpu.
-set DDR voltage manually to your Rams spec.
-PCI Freq: 100, wont be your problem.(yet)
-CPU gtl 0.62
-Loadline = disabled (enabled/auto never worked for me)
-NB=1.49-1.57 should be plenty (will result in 1.56- 1.6*)
-pll = 1.5
-cpu voltage= try 1.4 first and up that this its stable.
-try ai booster on auto.
Why dont you try my posted settings? (read last couple of pages)
Good luck!
