Thanks Weevil. I'm diggin your stuff also. Really like the Andi with an I shot.
I am just learning this post processing stuff and through a little of everything at the lock as it was just a plain 200 year old lock...
Here is the original shot.

Orginal is better
That's cool!
What you or I like will not be what the next person will like. That is part of what makes photography interesting imo.

A little out of focus because they're running and dancing, but I really like the look.
This is how they do weddings in the french quarter, New Orleans style, looks very fun.

Looks cool Weevil.
Do you get down there much? Would love to visit someday...
Hey guys I am still lurking around the forum these days, I am spending way more time behind the trigger (shooting in gun matches) than I am the D5000 these days but I did catch Lightroom 3 on sale so I have been spending 90% of my photography time trying to teach myself how to edit photos the correct way, I have found that I have zero skill with a real editing program but I am learning a little at a time and so far I am having fun.
Hers is a quick shot I snapped today.

Great shot there Tarowah, funny how the sky always looks more blue in the reflection, pisses me off sometimes.

Thanks for the comments guys.
The shot was taken in RAW and I did play around with the color a bit to try and get the sky and water the same color but in the end I reset the photo and just bumped contrast, blacks, clarity and removed an orange hue (it was taken just as the sun was setting), my goal is to stop over processing and try to get the most natural photos I can. Granted I will still play around but I have a hard enough time getting shots to look natural let alone artsy lol.
Very nice shot Tarowah!
I've only just started using photoshop CS5. What does lightroom offer over photoshop?
@ WeevilIf we go the wife will not want me there during the hight of the party... LOLQuote:
We go there a lot because my wifes family is from there, so its a cheap trip for us, no hotels necessary ; )
If youre going to go, go during the last week of Mardi Gras, good times will be had by all.
My inlaws retired to Jamaica so we had the same deal as you just get our butts there. We went a few times and thoroughly enjoyed our selves. Then they up and moved back here to Canada...
