Seems peeps are getting a little bent out of shape over this "two versions of the 3500+" thing. AMD did it with Clawhammers (those that couldn't pass with 1MB enabled) and it's perfectly reasonable for them to do it again.Quote:

well, the putting out two different CPUs at the same rating is stupid.
Sounds like something Intel would do! :nono: :slapass:
on the second thought, might not be too stupid
but to us they might clock better than venice cuz they are things like 4000+ with failed cache... but its still a 4000+ chip! only 512k cache.Quote:

What's more stupid, that or throwing the chips in the trash! Why wouldn't you sell chips that were otherwise worthless? :DQuote:

all this talk about the 3500+ sandy makes want to change my order now :(. must resist the temptation. i wish the folks who playtested the 3800+, 3500+, and 3200+ can get hold of a sandy 3500+ and test it out. i would think the sandy 3500+ will oc better than a venice 3500+. who's with me? :).
if they're indeed the 3700 or 4000 "failed" chips, then it's not too bad of a bargain or knockoff, regardless....nobody know how well they clock till someone get their hands on it. The question now is....who's willing to be the test mule? :D :D
Isn't there supposed to be a review of San Diego from some German site today or something? The site is http://www.compressorcooling.com and I'm anxiously checking that page regularly to see if the review is up.Quote:

does anyone know?Quote:

It will most likely be the day the e-tailer gets them. However, they may ship them to customers the same day if possible.
That's the date that they will get them, that's what the rep told me when I called him couple hours ago.Quote:

cmon now lets see is it really gana make a difference to the average person NO to the overclocker/enthusiast it just gives them OPTIONS so lets look at since AMD has 4 versions of the 3500+ people didnt care it just ment they needed to chose which one would be best for them
3500+ Newcastle
3500+ clawhammer
3500+ winchester
3500+ Venice
3500+ San Diego
now is it really gana hurt you to have one more on your list

;)
relax folks, put in your pre-order now, don't worry. next week we'll all be ocing the schnizzle out off our cousin vinnys or our amigos diegos :).
Yes but I was comparing the 3500 SAN DIEGO CORE to the 3500 VENICE core. The venice goes up to 3800+ while the Sandy is rated up to 4000+.Quote:

Pre-order a 3700+ San Diego, and sell the FX, call it a day. Only reason I won't keep the FX is that they don't tend to do well on AIR. I'll try my best though. I'm sure I can still sell it for a pretty penny b/c they do well under phase.
now that I think about it, if I were to plunge down 280 for the SD, might as well spend another 60 for the 3700 with 1MB cache plus the 12x multiplier. That way I can get me some BH5 or UTT to play around with too! 260 x12....definitely would be sweet to run 3120 at 2-2-2, on air!! :DQuote:

This is what Bottom Line Telecommunications told me about my preorder.Quote:

I assume Sparco is the same. Not sure about the other joints.
Oh btw guys, the 3000, 3200, and 3500+ PIBs are avail for pre-order on monarch, ETA ship date of may 20th, though.

"Otherwise I have to get the Venice as my 1GB Bh5 goes up only to 260fsb."
Sell the bh5 and get tccd then youll get 1:1 goodness even with a 3000+ Venice(300x9 for example)
I keep seeing people confuse the multis. 3700+ Diego only goes up to 11x, no 12x! Multipliers arent a problem for those with tccd ram ;)
How much will the sanny 4000+ cost? (europe)
the retail 3700 SD is going for $339.....performance price point is looking mighty good and I think the little Sandy is calling my name... :D :D
about time to sell my winchester....hehe.
