trans am, are you testing this on your MSI or DFI board??... acidbaby is using DFI.. maybe it doesnt like DFI boards
Ive seen a couple of ppl with msi k8n neo2 plat and 260 2-2-2-10 3.5v
he has the MSI board 939
yeh thats what im thinking but he also has the DFI NF3Quote:

The biggest factor is the CPU when it comes to memory (well, volts too :)). Some A64's are dogs. My Winnie 3500+ 939 won't do 250fsb at 3-4-3-10 with my good TCCD with any voltage. What a waste of money! My VX is on the way I hope.
well my BH-5 did some amazing OC's with this board so i would expect for this to not be the problem.
here it is at 3-3-3-8 @ 270mhz :(
using drive strength level 1 or 2 and chipset 1.8v ? try itQuote:

OK, i'm using the msi neo2 and I was looping test5 like 40 times at 240 2-2-2-10 and mo errors. I raised it to 245 and completes 1 test and freezes memtest again wtf? So what is the best way to burn in this memory? I mean no matter what, everytime I increase the htt, memtest just freeazes after 1st pass instead of just getting errors. THis is really frusterating. my plan is to loop memtest all night at 240 2-2-2-10 3.3v and see if it helps anything. any other suggestions will be appreciated. I also tried cas 2.5 and 3 but didn't help achieve anything higher.

no, test 2 didn't lock, it was pass2 of test 5 that locked.
THis is terrible news :(Quote:

I didn't even change any other settings and it doing ok so far. Did some preliminary loops of test 5 and 8 in memtest. Ran S&M memory test fine. Did some sandra. No screenies yet. Will let it test overnight. But, everything is good so far. I am happy.
Running at 3.5v with my ocz powerstream btw.
using memtest86+ v1.40 http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=6 ? v1.40 changed some of the test patterns and added some new stuff but test #5 is still the intensive one
Awesome news dudeQuote:

The guys having troubles on DFI... are you using CH or NC CPUs?
tried lowering drive strength no bueno :rolleyes:Quote:

Okay. I'll save the screenshots for the The Official OCZ VX Thread - and I'm not posting anything until I hit the magic number of 270MHz.
I installed the modules at around 5:30pm, immediately after I formatted my drive and re-installed WinXP. Here's a breakdown of what I've accomplished since then:
Memtest (Test #5) | 20 Loops | 200MHz @ 2-2-2-10 | 2.85VDIMM
Boot into Windows and Run Super Pi 2M
Memtest (Test #5) | 20 Loops | 210MHz @ 2-2-2-10 | 3.00VDIMM
Boot into Windows and Run Super Pi 2M
Memtest (Test #5) | 20 Loops | 225MHz @ 2-2-2-10 | 3.10VDIMM
Boot into Windows and Run Super Pi 2M
Memtest (Test #5) | 20 Loops | 235MHz @ 2-2-2-10 | 3.20VDIMM
Boot into Windows and Run Super Pi 2M
Memtest (Test #5) | 20 Loops | 245MHz @ 2-2-2-10 | 3.30VDIMM
Boot into Windows and Run Super Pi 2M
Current status:
Memtest (All Tests) | Now Looping | 250MHz @ 2-2-2-10 | 3.40VDIMM
I don't think I have to keep upping the voltage. I'm just trying to conduct my own "burn-in" experiment, so I'm just doing whatever I feel is going to work. I've got a 12-pack of Heineken + a pack of Marlboro Ultra Lights in front of me and the day off tomorrow. I'm just going to sit here and loop Memtest at 250MHz for another hour or two, and then gradually bump it up. When I say gradually, I mean 1MHz at a time and then repeating the whole Memtest shindig again.
I have a good/strange/happy feeling that I have a lucky set. :D I'll be taking baby steps tonight and tomorrow.
Wish me luck! I wish you all the same.
:toast:
good luck bro hope you get some better results than I :toast:
Good luck man, it's looking extremely nice so far, here's hoping you hit 270! :toast:
sorry aint going to happen tonight but im "free" tomorrow night so it will...Quote:

odd theing is, ive gottn TCCD to 285x9 dual, 1:1, 3,4,4,11,12,16 @3.2V to P95 for 15min this only lasted 3...ill be trying "looser" timings.
@ ryanpgroovy/OCZ guys: shoot me a PM with settings you want me to try out tomorrow night
LOL if this dont work out, ill be trying the 4400 EL Gold L.E. 2.5,4,4,8's that are "sitting on the bench" for now...ill find the best ram for this silly AV8 if it kills me (and my bank account)
GOOD LUCK to all VXers!!
PS @ ol!ver, dont have an "a:" (no memtest) is there another way? ya, im on water, can push 1.7V without going too high on temps.
Try different slots too.
My BH-6 and CH-5 like 1+2 on my LP-UT.
VX liked 1+3 better.
Acidbaby , dont give up yet , I posted some tips for you in the other thread 247 2-2-2 is a great starting point , I mean seriously nothing else in production now will do that .
Also , your running 2x512 on that board which makes the 247 especialy amazing , my benches on the dfi were all using 1 512.
instead of jumping to 270, try 2.5-2-2 @ 250 then go up also make sure you have a fan on the ram , also try setting the voltage just to 3.3
These things often need to be tweaked for while to get up to speed
Maybe even setting 250 2-2-2 for a while and running prime will help even though you knwo your getting one error in memtest per loop
My advice: grab some ice cold beer and just let Memtest or Sandra Memory Burn-In do the work for you. Patience is a virtue. I'm hoping it will pay off for me in the end.
another note , is looser timings outside of CAs dont seem to help with this ram
so I basicaly can boot stable with mine at the same speed 3-3-3 as 3-2-2
LOL 12pk and malborosQuote:
