Can yuo guys imagine how nervous I was with an $856USD processor sitting in the socket?? But it went well. Start off with the 100 ohm VR set to 20 ohm, work from there.
Now I have it offset so that 1.675 is 1.840, so 1.8 shoud be about 2v or so....

Im thinking middle leg 3 should read that of your 3.3v rail and leg 4 should read 1/2 of Vin or leg 1 "vdimm read point"
if leg 3 reads that of leg 1 then maybe the other LM324 is regulating Vin from the 3.3v rail before it hits RT9173b thus your limited to VIN and not of that from your 3.3v rail. :)

so if leg 3 is not that or "real" voltage set by Lm324 in the corner that might be the issue..
so what Im getting at here is if leg 3 is not that of your 3.3v rail the r9173b chip is setting output based on leg 3 so what I would do is take a direct 3.3v wire from the PSU and connect it to leg 3 of rt917b3 thus your VIN voltage should now be able to go .2v below your VIO/3.3v rail :)

Shouldnt it be possible to take 3.3v direct from ATX 3.3+ to vdimm like it can be done on asus p4c800 and gigabyte k8n?
Then there should be no problem with the max vdimm and/or vbt.

And my AGP/PCI locks doesnt seem to work (bios 1005.020) .. when i enable it i get the nice womans voice that says CPU failed due to CPU overclock ...
And clockgen doesnt seem to like me because i cant change any clocks :S

Okay, here is what me and my son found. Some of the ASUS A8V boards, even if same revision have a working lock, some don't. I ordered one that had a serial number of 45MG07 as the first six digits. My son's board was 45MG0J for the first six. Under beta BIOS 1005.021, his lock function worked, the lock function on the 45MG07 board didn't. He's been doing some research and found people with a board sn# of 45MG0B who also don't have working locks. So if he's correct on his hypothesis, any board with 45MG0J or higher as a SN# has a working lock.Quote:

Having said that, he flashed to BIOS 1006, and the option to set the lock was gone from the BIOS, he rolled back to 1005.021 BETA. So for whatever reason, ASUS isn't putting the lock function into the official BIOS yet, at least based on what he told me.
my s/n is 45MGOB7710 so , if thats true im like a cry baby :(
