Is anyone else seeing strange Vcore offset stability issues? If I use manual Vcore mode I can lower the Vcore about .025V compared to when I use the offset mode. I am using extreme LLC in both cases.

Thats probably a UEFI issue. I've used on my Asrock board the shipping UEFI (1.1) 1.3, and 1.5. 1.3 has a little discrepency (sp?) on voltages compared to 1.5 and requires a bit more, but at the same time 1.5 is far more flaky than 1.3. I'll be glad when the chinese new year is over and Asrock get their arses back to work theres a lot to fix with the UEFI.
Guys, when Intel manufacturers these do they test them? Im sure my new 2600K had marks where the socket pins had contacted the cpu before......
My new cpu just wont play the game ..... do I buy a third? .....
Newegg order that arrived 2-1-2011. Running on an ASROCK P67 Pro3 with 1.70 bios. 8GB G.Skill 1600 7-7-7-24 @ 1.60v 1T.

Prime95/LinX stable
4.2Ghz @ 1.20v
4.6Ghz @ 1.275v
4.7Ghz @ 1.30v
4.8Ghz @ 1.340v
This is water cooled under D-Tek Fuzion with custom mounting / back plate (specs in sig). Load temps at 4.8Ghz are hitting mid to high 50s.

Still hoping for 5Ghz, still working my way up.
I read it here mate! http://www.fudzilla.com/processors/i...th-socket-1155
hello anyone tried to decrease cpu pll ? in some case this has positive effect i lowered it 1.8 to 1.75 and no i dont have bsod bccode 124 no more with 1.45 vcore and 5.2ghz before i wasnt able to boot with 52x multiplier without cpu pll overvoltage now i can boot 52x multiplier without it and its prime stable  maybe try to go 1.7 and if i can lower vcore intel datasheets says cpu pll 1.71-1.89 safe range

I was not going for tight timing just low vcore 5.1 run! Thats y i left timing at stock! I know theses sticks can do cas 6!
With these settings I was able to bench at 5100 but at 1.5v plus I cant access the multi in TurboV, which of these settings disables OS multi? This new cpu has been disappointing so far.
Any of you guys have a cpu you arent happy with and may want to sell to me? 52x or higher would be nice.
also a interesting read mate
http://www.semiaccurate.com/2010/12/...ry-ivy-bridge/
also ket sandybridge isnt like x58 where cas/trcd etc love tight timings.. even with cas10 on SB you can hit 25read/write
Thats very interesting indeed. I'm not sure why intel would use LPDDR2 though. It would be better to use DDR3, but use less of it and clock it faster. DDR2 always ran pretty damn hot and could get power hungry. If intel have something up their sleeve though to deal with that, then its cool. (no pun intended :p: )
yeah totally confused, cant really say much as to why they would use it .. beats me..
Not only that, but DDR2 also limits configurations, DDR2 could only be used up to a 128bit bus AFAIK, so they would have to use some kind of memory ringbus maybe to get that DDR2 up to 512bit... it just doesn't make sence. DDR3 would be much easier to work with.
That and the fact DDR3 has 4x the bandwidth.. :shakes:
Guys, how many cpus did you go through before you found a really good one?
:)
It all comes down to luck in the end! Cpu lottery!
CPU lottery indeed, shooting for #3 2600k soon.
Try some off company on Amazon, I haven't tryed it yet but I just recived L048A959 just yesterday (02/03/11) (2500k) btw
And well from what I can see the older the better :)
My L049A796 Clocks well (ish) atm. Still having to work with a flaky UEFI but it does 4.5GHz sub 1.3v, probably stable around 1.25v-1.21v. Until the fickle UEFI is sorted out its not very easy pushing further.
Problems with UEFI are just in your head,i managed 5500 with no problem on asrock extreme6 :)
