So ( dave the memory n00b) in theory those run 2400 so a max of 1200 would show in cpuz meaning that at 890 I'm not even close?
I wonder if with the 5520 chipset with it's greater latency if it can't handle the memory at near it's max..

using 1066 and 1333 straps in bios, all other settings untouched, this is at 4351mhz:
Nice one!! Keep going Dave. As the Bearded one said..."there is a lot left in those Modules"
Exactly :p:

Not likely.. the board may need a few bios fixes to run high Dram frequency, my guess is that it's just the CPU's IMCs not being capable of running 2+Ghz stable. I've experienced a similar thing with the X5650 and X5660 on my Gigabyte Board.. can't do more than 1800 without the use of excessive VTT/Vdimm.
What you can do is run CAS7 or even CAS6 with those sticks.
+1 on lowering the CAS. That should drop your Super Pi times and maybe even show more points on the grid.
Thanks guys, I'll try the memory settings tonight but first I played around with vantage and got it to work.
I don't know if this is good, bad or mediocre but this is what I got.
Machine was at 4352mhz,HT was off,vid is a EVGA GTX260-192 card at 600/1200
I sure hope this group buy thing comes about Dave because that CPU score at those clocks is just ddddrrrrrrrooooooolllllllllll worthy!!! :slobber::slobber::slobber:
After I posted that I went to Futuremark and the top score overall has a cpu score of 48,000+.. Yes, I did laugh.
Now to beg borrow or steal some good video cards but I still won't get to the top as they will be on air, not going to freeze someone elses high end cards.
Faints at the CPU score
i did a 5.9Ghz Gulftown run and got like 52.4K
Now you need a GTX480 on LN2 and you are set to go
You could buy a Cray...
Oh yeah THAT'S gonna help his power bill!
(serious ... SO want one ... so want a lightsaber, too ... that ain't gonna happen either)
OH GOD! Perkam's here, someone call 911 in Canada cause he's going to have heart failure when he reads this!
Dave, that CPU score is absolutely insane. What was wrong with Vantage... why didn't it feel like running?
P.S., card posts fine, haven't stressed it yet, though. :)
Dave's been trough the change?!?
... so many possible comments ... so many ways to get banned :shakes:
Well I get called a smart something often enough. ;)
