I have such rings on my Antec Signature, overall it is very good psu, but stock sleeving and this rings are terrible. And I don't think it is filters :shakes:
I've not tryed to remove them yet.

Well first of all, those molex extractor tools didn't work for me, I have the Corsair HX520 and the pins are an ass to remove.

I had an extra tool as well, something to help me pull out the "super hard to remove" pins, couple bucks down at ACE Hardware :

They have no sharp teeth, so they don't "bite" into the PVC and tear it if you squeeze and pull too hard :

Put on your gloves, it does help reduce injury when you yank the cable out, trust me, you WILL cut yourself (maybe I'm just clumsy)

Push one pin in until it can't go no more :

Push the other pin in and make sure it's aligned, so you know it went all the way in :

Man how does everyone get the heatshrink and sleeving cut the right length? I seem to be wasting heatshrink because it is too short and the sleeving because it is too short too. Any tips?

Did you trim the length of the wires? Mine seem to come with different lengths, hence the mess.
A little tip: instead of yanking the wire out of the connector with a pair of pliers, take a very small flathead screwdriver and gently push it out from the same side as you put your needles/staples in. This way you avoid pulling the wire out of the metal piece, like i did on one ocassion. :(
+1 on that...thats one of the main reasons I had to go out and order a molex crimp tool, and why I fought with my kaze master for a good 3 hours trying to get its re-wiring looking half decent (still doesn't look perfect though however)Quote:

Anyone know how to remove the sata power connectors from a HX1000W PSU? I want to customize the length. That guide on Page 1 doesnt help
