I agree with bingo though, i got best performance with my ultra-d on older bios files, but when i got my X-fi i had to update because the machine would crash due to the x-fi... Creative sucks.

511 is dissapointing, 550 would have been nice, even if the board doesnt make it easy it would be nice ot have the option to try. i think having a limit at 511 is a huge fallout.. even 975 will let you choose over 511 if you want to try.. and some have actually gotten it to work...

This is kinda anti-climactic. DFI would have done themselves a big favor if they kept this board quiet for the past 12 months and then just sprung it on us. If your planning R600 CF you should probably pick this board up asap so you can get the board setup down, it might take that long with the pandora's BIOS this thing has ;)
My board is retail number four according to the serial number, full retail kit pulled off the packaging line randomly during my last visit to Taiwan. I spoke with XBit about the 680i overclocking, think they can do it now. ;) However, the 680I situation has been "weird", our retail boards from NewEgg and ZipZoomFly clock better than the NV samples we have with the same CPU. However, we found the CPU made all the difference in the world as to the overclocking success. One week 28 E6600 does 9X442, the other one from the same lot does 9x414, yet the 9x414 capable CPU clocks better on the RD600 and 975X than the 9x442 CPU. :confused:Quote:

High FSB seem to require more VMCH voltage than on the reference Marlin / Stinger boards. With early bioses even the Marlin could do up to 490FSB with 1.45V VMCH voltage.
With 1.66V VMCH my board does ~470FSB ram speed at 600MHz.
Bios is reporting 65c for NB temperature, so enhancing the chipset cooling will most likely help to reach higher fsb.
The most perfect board I have seen so far :D
