even myself can hardly believe that.
last night I put my Zalman CNS9500LED on my Aopen975xa-ydg to cool my T2600.
when I finished all the benchmark pi_1m/sciencemark/pi_fast/3Dmark/PCmark,
I suddenly noticed I haven't connect the fan on the cooler.
then I realized what happen:
-------------------------
zalman 9500 with no fan
vcore=1.45~1.46v
T2600 @ 3Ghz
78gtx 512m @ 622_1880
only a 3000rpm 4cm fan on NB_Heatsink. no other fans cooling the system.
ambient temp=22c--------------------------
the system passed all the benchs in about 1hour
everest told the cpu temp=27c idle, 35c load :D

then I can tell why my conroe E6600 don't need a fan but just a Heatsink for cooling.
1.18v core is much lower then Yonah's 1.45v :D :D

seems we can throw away our watercooling/T120 and back to 7years ago just a Alu_Heatsink can solve the thermal problem of these chips in the future :D :D :D

if air or water.. jack crap over the chepa one if it gets it to nearly ambient.. now as for a tec setup or phase.. i see good things, liike low capacity units thaat do -65c unloaded instead of -50c and getting -30c in windows.. so i hope:p:

Technically Conroe is not even released. From what we've seen conroe rocks yes. But who knows whats going to happen in 6 months when its released? Alot can happen.. We didnt know Intel was doing Conroe until about 1-2 months ago.. Maybe AMD is doing the same... hit us with a sneak attack. Who knows tho. Right now, AMD owns Intel. In 6 months when the Conroe comes out, lets see who owns who.

I don't mean to turn this into a which is better debate, but AMD doesn't "own" Intel. In fact Intel holds the WR's in most CPU related benchmarks (SiSoft, PI, 3d01, etc).

Well, in my opinion. I don't care which one does Sisoft better, or what does Super PI better, or what runs 3dmark01....(wtf, people still run this?) better. I care about how it runs games. I can play games with settings turned on 100% with no lag at all, thats what I care about. With that being said, Im pretty sure Intel can do the SAME thing... So basically, Were talking about seconds here... seconds apart. one does this one 1 second faster than this one. Its a second. Its kinda sick to see all the children out on spring break. saying, "this owns this, this owns that. I pwnage you all over the place"

Lets compare apples to apples, and oranges to oranges. not apples to oranges, they both have positives to them, and negitives to them. Right?

Just a little correction as im not sure if this has been posted. 3DMARK05 gets a HUGE boost due to dual cores, you have to use task manager to specify the core you want to use for 3dmark and then your score goes really high, you can check my score on my sig, its high and everything is on stock, except a little the video card. Try running again 3dmark05 with a single core on the task manager (if you havent already).

Well, Intel's got it's "apples" (read Conroes) now, and we've known of them for at least 2yrs (unlike 1~2 months you stated in your earlier post) link> http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/03..._4mb_l2_64bit/
So AMD has had at least two years to get ready for Conroe, but to this date they have released (or leeked) nothing (!!!) concerning their "Conroe-killer" CPU :stick: .

You prolly not aware of this - But Stephen is XS's AMD guru and might already have AM2 in his hands - but can't talk about it.

Fact is most of the times first runs of cpus, which are still in Alpha and Beta stages can be significantly slower - as the same model cpu in pre - and actual production runs. We can see this over and over in Intel cpus - A0 can be quite :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty at times

Would be great in the future try to avoid words like "pathetic" directed to other users - and you'll soon realize that there is an awesome group of people here and lots to be learned and shared with

I apologize for OTing this thread even more but,

weren't you the one say "AMD currently owns Intel"?

Some people care about pure numbers. Some people care about other things.

A tuned chevelle can do nice 1/4 mile time. But they can't rally around like a WRX STi. Does that mean the WRX pwns all?

yep, the very first prescotts could only do 2ghz or so (i'm talking very first as in intel's first couple of test chips). look where they are at now

while that example only shows clockspeed increases, it does show that initial samples are far from the final retail versions.

now will you guys stop talking about amd! every post that has fx, x2, amd, 939, am2, etc... should be deleted from this thread(if only i was a mod :rolleyes:). it DOES NOT belong here. if you want to discuss conroe vrs am2, do it elsewhere. this thread is about conroe test results. if you dont have anything to say about that, dont post.
