I've confirmed the OCZ uses the same BE-5 modules as the Mushkin HP3200, but I don't know for a fact that it uses the Brainpower 808 PCB like the Mushkin does. The OCZ is a fantastic deal with that rebate and should overclock as well as the Mushkin.

Hi,
i asked the guy who did the amdzone review of 2gb ram where corsair di so well - what ram he had and he said - Top line is:
CMX1024-3200C2 CMS3202v1.3
Cheers Dave
YAY sticky
Sorry for the lack of updates guys. I have received several pm's for updates and I promise I will tend to them asap. I just have been extremely busy and am without a working pc at the moment (building new again). I'll be getting on my brothers laptop as much as possible, but keep in mind I work 40+ hours a week and have many of responsibilities (links in sig). Thanks everyone for your support, this thread has a strong following and it's great to see. Thanks to Bachus (I assume) for the sticky. :toast:
I'm going to be trying out the new OCZ 2x1gig PC4000 in a week or so, and just got my X2 3800+ today but to busy to play with. I'm hopeing that it has a good memory controller so I can give this Ballistix a good run with the 10x multi.
sorry guys, I can't take the spreaders off, I need the warranty to stay intact as I won't be keeping these long. Honestly, they perform just like the ocz 2 3 2's so I wouldn't be suprised if they were exactly the same. You know what they say, it's walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..........50-60 bucks less, it's a good deal.
Did you have the OCZ stuff before? Can you at least look outside of the heat spreader on the upper right hand corner and see if they're using Brain Power PCBs? Thanks a lot!

I just ordered the new OCZ DDR500 2x1gig from Monarch IMO it will be here on Friday or Monday and I'll post results.
DB Updated. :D Sorry for the delay.
I bit the bullet on the Mushkin from ZipZoomFly last night, they must not have updated their price yet, as Mushkin is selling it for $322, and they said prices on memory have goen up substationally for high densisty modules. Guarantee ZZF will raise their price in a day or two when they realize they're losing money. Hope this stuff OCs nicely.
If anyone wants to order directly from Mushkin, put in coupon code ROJAK for 10% off.
^Those were my thoughts exactly doom. I requested e-mail notification as soon as since Mushkin raised the price- I was so surprised it was still $265 when I bought it. Happy, but surprised :D
Still $265 as of now though ;)
We'll be looking forward to the results on those mushkin. I am curious as to how consistent they are across the board. The three posted in the DB seem to be pretty close in overclocking potential.
I'm just hoping our new chips are as good as your older ones :) Some guy reported getting silver heat spreaders on his, which is odd. I'd like to be able to run about 245 with a 2.5 cas. Wish my Chaintech had more memory divers like DFI does.
How does DFI add those dividers, I thought the cpu controls that? BTW, Ninja, what Bios are you running on your DFI? My brother has the same board as you and am messing around with a few different bioses.
just got these in

so far all i have done is lower timings to 3-3-3-8 1T, but they refuse to go any lower at stock speeds (Tried Trp 2, but it rebooted, tried Trcd 2 and it worked for a while and then rebooted) While running SuperPi i tested to see how far they would go with clockgen. I got to 270 and it failed. I have isolated my motherboard in the past to test its top limits and it tops out at 275ish, so im guessing its my boards fault it was unstable. But then as i scaled it back down i even got errors in SuperPi with 260? WTF? Then i put it back to 250 3-3-3-8 and it got an error again. I rebooted and am now running SuperPi again with 250 3-3-3-8 1T and it seems stable again. So whats the trick with these sticks? I see some people undervolt them to 2.6 or 2.7 even though they are stock set at 2.8, do they prefer low voltage? My motherboard BIOS has an option for Drive Strength, i can set it to Normal or Weak but im not sure what to do there. Whats the lowest timings i should be able to hit with these at stock speeds? So far i have only tested at stock 2.8Vdimm. This is my first time to have ram that can actually overclock, so this is all new to me. Thanks
I had better success when >250 with 2.7v except when I was trying to top out at 290 which I had at 3.0 and 3.1v but 270 had 2.8v and it errored put to 2.7v at 270 and it was stable, strangeQuote:

Hey what's the consensus on Orange (slots 2&4) vs. Yellow (1&3) on the DFI LP NF4 boards for these 2x1 tests? Anyone tested one vs. the other?
I haven't tested it, but I'm not busy now, so I'll give it a shot. I'm using the orange slots now.Quote:

Well I just tried to boot @ 258 mhz using the yellow slots and it would hang at the windows logo screen. So my conclusion is that the orange slots are better on my board. Also the XP90 heatsinks cover the ram better if they are in the orange slots.Quote:

Has anyone seen any reviews on the OCZ PC4000 2x1GB kit (OCZ5002048ELGE-K), or know how it compares to the Ballistix?
Not sure which to get.

Just picked up these gems, Memtest stable 8 hours+so far at 540 mhz at 3 3 3 6
These babies fly, can do 245 at 2.5 3 3 6 all at 2.6v
