monarch told me retail Venice/Diego will take 2 weeks longer to get. i cancelled my pre-order from them because it was oem instead of retail. check before you pre-order folks. correct if i'm wrong, but BP code means retail(as in PIB) right? I got this from the pdf doc. from AMD that's floating around.

Monarch lists the actual processor code on the processor itself, so they are definately the OEM one's and NOT, I repeat, NOT the retail version. Sparco is by far the better deal.
hmm...interesting, I wonder if the Diego would overclock any better than the venice...
Guys will I have any problems if let's say that I pre order on sparco and choose payment as Paypal and I pay them when NCIX refunds my money?
Also I just noticed that the Venice and Sandy cored 3500+ on sparco have the EXACT same price... HMMM, now I'm tempted... :stick:
I don't know if you can float the payements like that. Why don't you try it out or e-mail them and see if it's possible.

The question of whether the Sandy 3500 clocks better than tha Venice 3500 is slowly eating at my brain right now. Since the price on sparco is the same, I'm not sure what to do... THE AGONY!!

few months ago I heard someone saying more cache might hinder overclockability, that might of been speculation but I guess we won't know for awhile till someone get them and try it out. Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe the 3500 diego default clock is 2.0 wherea the 3500 venice is 2.2
well considering the 3500 "san diego" is exactly a venice there really isnt any reason to think of how much one will clock better they are just re binned chipsQuote:

I would get a sandy 3500+. OC'ing will probably be the same, and the sandy comes with 1 mb L2 cache, instead of 512 mb.

charlie there WILL be a 90nm FX-55 they have them for pre order already i think it is to pro long the release of the FX-57 maybe they are thinking of something special for the 57 who knows but im almost 100% positive that there is a FX-55 90nm infact 99.9% sure
though the 3500 diego (or sandy whatever you want to call it) only has multiplier of 11, the 3500 venice has it at 12. So I guess you should base your purchase on the memory you got, for TCCD you should be able to get away with diego, everything else probably better off with venice due to the higher multiplier = more headroom to play with, hell...I had already pre-ordered the 3200 venice, but I might place another pre-order for the 3500 diego just to see what the difference is, then keep whichever I like most and put the other on ebay. :toast:Quote:

I pre ordered the 3500+ sandy. So it's certain that the 3500+ sandy has the 11 multiplier right? Otherwise I have to get the Venice as my 1GB Bh5 goes up only to 260fsb.
Also Sparco has the cheapest prices on the Venice/Sandy judging by froogle. Let's hope they com through with the shipping/service. If they do, they just got themselves a new future customer for other purchases.
