yeah 4x512 is hard but it shines on sk8v as those boards would allow 1t command. if you look at this bench he perfected the bankinterveaving with 4x512 pc3200re LL corsair at 2-2-2-5-7-16 and with 1t command I was told.. unlike the new boards defualting to 2t command the sk8v had huge stablity becasue of the ECC/REGISTERED ddr support.
2x256=no bank
2x512=2 bank
4x512=4 bank

These A8V run fine at 1T....all of my benching so far has been at 1T.
no Im not saying 939 has any probalms with 1t as I have seen awsome 1t results. Im saying the boards defualt to 2t with all 4 banks filled on 939 where as on the older 940 chipsets they seem to be able to still run 1t. :)

afaik the board doesnt default to 2t. it defaults to auto. The chips memory controller on the CG stepping a64's default setting is 2t the board just doesnt override it like the sk8v that defaults to 1T. You can still try to make it run 1T but i couldnt run 1T with 4x256 at 200mhz. And according to amd's spec 4x SS sticks is only speced to run 333mhz 1T and 4xDS sticks is only spec'd to run 200mhz 1T if i remember right. i'd have to track down that chart to remember for sure.:p:Quote:

And bank interleaving autoselects. 4x256 is 2way 2x512 is 2 way 2x256 is no interleaving(dont have 4x512 to test 4 way). So as long as you have interleaving enabled its going to run at the above values.

100mhz on the core+5mhz fsb+tighter timings. The way the memory bandwidth scales with cpu speed on these chips i can see that make'n a couple a hundred mb/s. 250mb/s off 7100mb/s isnt very much, a little better than 3%.
Running the 3700EB at Cas3 now. I never thought this was possible. VDimm still at 2.8v.

I think it was Bigtoe who recommended that I use TRAS of at least 9. As you know, 5-6 seems to work well with BH-5. But this 3700EB has me all confused. lol. I'm getting higher HTT with 10 than 5, and better Sandra results with Cas3. :)Quote:
