The E0 Q9550 SLB9V thread (finally!)

very nice OC's guys. been away for a bit. got that work thing going on..lol

ok finally got me some 1066 mem(corsair dominators) ploped them in this morning and took it to 475mhz fired right up

every thing is running smoothly right now. i havent tested anything yet thats next.


now i dont know what all i need to tweak so i will just post what i have tweaked. could you all tell me if im missing anything. im sure i am

vcore in bios= 1.350v
freq=475x8.5
mem strap 2.00D
mch 1.28v
mem volts 2.1v (mem rated at 2.1v)

going to run IBT then Linx and of course some prime95

please guys am i missing anything that is something major that i dont know about yet. i know this chip will do higher i just dont know of what else i need to be doing to get it higher

ok all i cant get it to do 4.03 stable ive taken the vcore up to 1.4125v
mch upp to 1.30v
mem up to 2.2v
it freezes on me everytime i start IBT. linx will only pass the first 2 test then fail on the third one.

ive backed it down to 3.83ghz
and it has passed IBT but not linx which is a suprise.
its running Prime95 now so far all is well there.

these dominator sticks can they handle 2.2v factory setting is 2.1v
right now for 3.83ghz i have vcore at 1.325v in bios with the vdrop it is at 1.232v. should i take it higher?

here is what im doing now with prime95. should i be useing a different setting in prime95?

Try doing what I suggested to some one else. Leave your GTLs at auto and just set your Memory Voltage and and CPU voltage and Northbridge Voltage and see where you can get. My NB is currenty at 1.46v in order for me to run 485 x 8.5.

I believe my other voltages are like.

CPU Voltage 1.39v with Vdrop actuall is 1.32v~.
CPU GTL is like .84
1.34v Term
1.46 nbv
Auto for nb gtl because it kept giving me trouble trying to hone it in. I will probably hone it in soon but, took alot of time to hone everything else in so I was getting tired of tweaking for a while so I just started playing games for awhile.

I had, to hone in my memory gtl voltage because the board was acting flaky with out it being honed in. I think it is set to like .84 or .82 something like that.

I am getting some after market chipset / mosfet heatsinks this coming up week because the chipset is very warm compared to my P5Q Deluxe that I had and just sold on ebay actually. I put a little powerfull fan on it for right now.

The thing that seemed to affect me the most was the memory gtl and the CPU gtl. You can actually watch your whole system getting more stable and tuned in by using Intel burntest and watching the GFlops and how long it takes to finish a test. I fine tuned mine again last night and mind you, with out messing with the NB gtl and have managed to pull off my best Vantage score which is 17586 last night. Then I continued playing NFS Shift for awhile after that.

I think that once I get my NB GTL figured out and tuned in I wil probably push my system a little further FSB wise maybe, to 500 but I am thinking 495 at least.

I have a Q9550 E0 to but i dont have a propper batch.... my VID is 1.275.
i can run 470 x 8.5 is 3.95 GHz @ 1.29v with vdrop. now i want to run 500x8 but if i do it no matter what i do it crashes so it sucks :P but my brother has a propper batch so maybe im going to switch since he's not realy a OCer ;)

I host websites at my work and some times it will be the middle company that helps the main website or company pass traffic that gets infected and hackers insert the code from that companies servers when they go to pass you to another page. Hackers are slick.

I belive,4Ghz too izzi for this chip, but my mobo is not good for quad 45nm.
465 FSB is good result, and it not a limit,but I dont want raising too much volt fot NB.
BTW, what temp is critical for NB? now I have 64'C at peak load, is this good or not?

Yeah... I have TRUE with NF-12P + AS5, actual vcore at ~1.23v and it's almost 70c with OCCT. Fun... Ambient temperature is about 26c, but still...

Btw, could someone say what the normal voltages with P35 are for MCH and FSB? Thanks to Gigabyte, I have no clue about them.
