I can tell you what didn’t work if that’s any consolation. :)
The challenge is a result of the thickness of the faceplate – it’s too thick to bend and not thick enough to tap threads into. That being said, we’re not interested in changing the thickness because we’re happy with how it looks. The other issue is the optical drive door mechanism and the space it requires.
One test involved welding threaded studs to the back and securing brackets with nuts. This concept failed because the heat of the flash weld altered the molecular structure of the aluminum, resulting in discolored areas on the anodized front face. The discolored area was around the weld stud and was only noticed in two locations on 3 faceplate samples and only visible at certain angles. Never the less, this was obviously unacceptable. The next concept involved two part metal epoxy. While the tensile strength was satisfactory, failures came as a result of static shear. It was amazing really, you could pry on the bracket with a pair of pliers for all your worth and never pull one off yet just the slight constant or “static” load of a pound or two over time caused a few of the test samples to fail… and by fail I mean fall off.
The ultimate solution involved a mounting system that successfully absorbed static load while providing satisfactory shear resistance and permitting space for the optical drive door mechanism.
I’m sorry I’m not able to fully answer your question. I try to be as forthright as I can in sharing information about the way I do things. A few things however, we feel the need to keep to ourselves, at least for the time being. I hope you can understand why.

There we will work on the last little details and create the little product-descriptions. We then have to finalize the photos, fill up the database with shipping-stuff to all kind of places AND do some final testing. The local work on it "seems" to be completed :) *dance*

you should think about the official launching of the site, with i7 and x58 around the corner many ppl may want option for mods with no hardware
i think the tj07 side panels should be the first thing to do... maybe make a waterfall res inside the side panel :)
the front faceplate is too much for some of us that like our front bays.. the back plate is pointless because no one stares at the back of their pc :)

Hi Charles and Nils did you guy's find any replacement for the liquid/gel that you used to remove the Silverstone logo writing from the front of the case.If I remember correctly the last stuff could kill you so was just wondering did you find anything safer to use instead.:)
I would like to remove the writing etc to keep the front end clean and sharp looking, but no big deal if you have not found anything.I dont want to try any liquids that are going top mess up the finish of the case so thought I would ask you guy's first.

There are countless nearly identical scenarios.
Essentially, the delays we’re facing are a result of the volume of things needing to be done and the fact that it's summer. Not to mention setting up the whole eCommerce website, sorting the packaging and global shipping details. Once we’re up and running, we’ll be meticulously tracking inventory and ordering parts well enough in advance to hopefully keep supply in stock, or at the very least, with very short turnaround. Truth is this venture is a lot more work than we anticipated. That always seams to be the way though, iddnnit. It’s probably for the best that we always underestimate these things. If we knew in advance just how hard things are to do that may tip the scale to not bothering. We just want things to be right. I hate that it’s taking longer than anticipated but we’re working as hard as we can to launch and hopefully, it will all be worth it.
An observation - When I came up with the name “murderbox” I was pretty much intending to build machines for my local market. I knew it was an edgy name that some may consider negative or even offensive. Anyone that knows me knows I’m a reasonably passive guy who just likes to do his thang. I figured that I’d meet all my customers in person so they would hopefully see that the name “murderbox” was not intended negatively or as a correlation to some hyper-aggressive, alpha-male type dude. This to say that despite the fact that I really like the name, it does sometimes cause problems. It seams that some people just don’t get the "tongue in cheek" aspect of it. An example of this may be the German Customs Officers holding the 25KG package of murderMod parts intended for Europe, I sent to Nils over 2 weeks ago. If any of you have any “pull” with these dudes, please on behalf of me, tell them to “unclench” and let the package through!

I don't know about package deals, it's certainly something to consider. The plan is to launch with murderMod TJ07 parts and add new products as we go. The next murderMod offerings will likely be for Lian Li cases.Quote:
