yep maybe, someone should try the 0505 bios to know if fsb can go higher with it

I have P5N-E & e4300 just few days. First impression is very good(not the hot NB HS :D ).
http://ceemic.pri.ee/c2d/17.563.JPG 1,55V vcore(just in case); 1,3xV vNB, 2,2xV mem...
But here comes the problem: I can't go over 385MHz FSB
Tried 6-8 multies, 0307 and 0401 BIOS, different memslots, different voltages and mem:FSB dividers, no result:confused:
NB is cooled by a custom 80x80 fan, zalman heatsink on SB...
(I dont believe the crappy samsung 2x512 667 "value" rams are the reason)
Tomorrow I am going to try mu CPU in a different board; "hopefully" it is "CPU FSB wall":stick: ...and maybe I can try e6300 on my board-->this should finally reveal the truth:)
How is your vdroop?
I think it has to do with the NB. I still have vdroop even after the mod, and I'm completely stable at 3.5ghz. at 507mhz it will boot into windows easily, but it will freeze if you put any kind of a load to it. I think (think) that you could go higher if you did a vmch mod. I have adequate cooling for 2v I think. I haven't seen anything higher than 510mhz fsb on this board. I'll do a vmch mod when I get some VR's for the vdroop mod as well. I couldn't get stable at 500mhz until I put my HR-05 SLI on the NB.
OK. This is what I booted to.

This is what I clogkgened to.
Well, the image got corrupted, but it was 509mhz. I went to 511 after that and it froze instantly. I'm going to mod it soon and I will post results when I do. We'll find out if this will go over 510mhz or not.
It very well could be the NB. I'd like to see the results with 2v. Just keep a close eye on those NB temps lol
Luckily the problem was e4300 FSB "wall"
Tried e6300 on my P5N-E: http://ceemic.pri.ee/c2d/18.718-fsb465.JPG
better than 385, but still much to go:cool:
e6400 is arriving next week:D
Asuck P5N-E SLI BIOS version 0505 ... freaking piece of sh****t

Don't know what the f***k Ass-suck programmers are doing .....
If there any pencil mod to fix the vdroop?
sbinh,
It's only a downgraded ROM file if you try to upgrade from 0401. From 0202 or 0307 it's an upgrade. Use awdflash.exe instead of EzFash to flash that bios. Try it, you can always upgraded back to 0401 lol Stay cool you know how this stuff works.
Hi guys
I just got this board(Came with 401 bios) with a E4300 my memory is Corsair 6400C4 v1.2 D9.
Im new to intel how should I oce the chip Unlinked, linked? should I use the 9 or 8 divider?and are there any important settings I should disable?
My memory is sli ready should I mess with the sli settings in the bios?
linked, unlinked causes random crashes from what I hear.
Will I be able to OC an e4300 to 333x9 = 3.0GHZ without having to worry about vdroop?
vdroop applies at all voltage levels but is does increase alot with more voltage. If you are aiming for 3ghz you wont have to worry about it much tbh
I want to ask if anyone has tried the vdimm voltage mod for this board ?
http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4450&s=12
My board wont boot because the ram is being a pleb (needs 2.2v) and the bios has decided to reset itself after I left it off for a few mins.
I dont really want to risk this ginea pig style but having the board out of operation unless I buy some more ram is crap also.
Im hoping the mod raises the vdimm from the base, so 1.8v default will become 2v
Anyone got any info?
[QUOTE=Hajpoj;2087259]linked, unlinked causes random crashes from what I hear.
Then how im a suppose to oce I only see Unlinked, linked and auto.
Im gonna get either the thermalright HR-05 or thermalright HR-05 SLI for the NB im gonna put a 80mm fan on it if i get the HR-05 the fan will be blowing upward if get the HR-05 Sli the air will be going down which would give better temps to the NB.
linked doesn't work right for me...if I set it to linked it wants to do FSB to DRAM of 1:2.
any help on my HR-05 question.
I have the stock NB heatsink with an 80mm fan (side case fan) blowing on it and I get fsb2000 (3.5) with my 6300, stable.
HR-05? Sure. Although I'd just put an 80mm fan on the stock NB and be done with it.
As for settings, and general info, here's a good place to start:

I'll say that I haven't had any problems with this board. I'm now running bios 0505. never had a problem with linked, unlinked, auto or anything.
yesterday night my mobo is dead    with no reason. NF650i is easy die?
Check its really dead, remove bios battery and leave alone for 24hr unplugged
