Damnit...I can't dual prime at 400 Mhz cuz of my proc. The memory is fine, but the proc fails the Small fft tests in Prime no matter what voltage I put it at..grrr....

Might just be Speedfan. Speedfan shows 4.76V for my 5V rail but the same Antec SP500W PSU read 4.95V on my old Albatron mobo. Speedfan also misreads both my fans by thousands of rpm and reads my 12V rail as 0.00V. Maybe version 4.30 will be better?Quote:

This is sp2004 stable for 6 hours tested so far.
I'm not going to try to read this monster thread but just a quick question. What is the best bios for the ds3 so far ocing and accurate temp readings? Thanks
F5 is the safest bet
F5 helped me alot , before with my E6700 fsbwall @ 355 now 400 no problem 3200 mhz @ 1.33v :D ( air )
Max @ 1.57v all AIR 3850 mhz
( 2x cpu-z , forgot to set it on tab for memory )
So far for me F5 has also been the best bios i have used, ive used upto f6b.
F6b has caused me loads of problems........ X-fi stopped workign etc, and now even flashed back to F5 it wont work (recognises the hardware but cant install drivers)
oh well, price you pay I guess
hmm just received my new DS3 after I butchered my first one trying to take off the backplate for the big typhoon...one thing i noticed in CPU-Z it shows my chipset revision as C2. On my old board it showed C1.

interesting.. it also shipped with the f4 final bios?Quote:

i'll let you know later, I just put everything together, and posted that screenshot literally on the first boot.
My max FSB on my old DS3 was 500FSB, lets see if this one can go further :)
check with cpu-z 1.35Quote:

this is weird though, my first board said C1 in CPU-Z 1.36
That's ok/1.35 cpuz unsupport...1.36 see rev.of chipset..you have c2 allright/Quote:

sent off to see if I can get it RMA-ed, hopefully I will get a decent revision as a replacement....need to remember to change the chipset gunk back to some generic stuff I have ;)
hmm right, i need better ram thats capable of 600MHz+
any suggestions?
Thanks for the replies. The f5 bios is what's flashed right now on the ds3 and the cpu is running 3.2ghz on a 6400 stock volts. I might push my lil brother to try to get 3.6ghz+ range (on stock big typhoon). Idle 40ish load almost 60c. Pretty high for the BT? I think so. I'm about to take it out to reapply. What you guys think?

Can the 965P DS3 boot into windows at full speed?
I'm asking because my DQ6 cannot. For example,
my E6600 can prime all day at 405 fsb, but I can't finish POST at anything above
379 ish regardless of Vcore. I have to boot at, say, 375, then once in windows, use a util such
as Clockgen to up the clock to 405. So my question is, does the 965P DS3 have the same problem, or is the max fsb for POST equal to or greater than
the max fsb once in windows?
why i am not stable at 3600mhz in my e6600 conroe, volts put at 1.435 and fsb 4000 mem 1:1.
i stable at 3300mhz v1.375
where did you buy it from??Quote:

got it from newegg.
not sure about the numbers on the outside of the box, ill look into that later
F5 fixed all my overclocking problems.
Mobo: DS3
CPU: E6300
Memory: A-Data Vitesta 1GBx2 kit PC2-533
GFX: Gigabyte 7600GT Silent Pipe
HDD: 160GB 7.2k
PSU: Antec TruePower II 550W
I've never overclocked before, and I've reached 3.15GHz (450x7), dual 32M Pi Stable, running at 1:1 with timings of 4-5-5-12. Everything is stock; cooler and volts included (except +.4 VDIMM). I'm very pleased with this BIOS version. (Screenies soon.) I'm running PS/2 mouse and keyboard jacks just to be on the safe side.
BIOS options:
Disabled USB Legacy Support
Everything under 2nd tab
PCI-E freq at 100
Memory Divider at 2.00
And that's it.
The memory, at these speeds, will Memtest all day at DDR860 4-5-5-12. Nice.
