i would rma it to asus you have three years from the day you bought it

I bought the board as a package deal with a cpu and memory on ebay. I live in the netherlands and I bought it from an american seller. So I can;t send it back.
I Think i'm going to buy the maximus formula.
Anybody got suggestions for a good oc board.
Thanks
I wanted to know if this ram will work with this board?
Kingston
1 GB PC2-8000 SDRAM 240-pin DIMM DDR2 Memory Module - HyperX Series
or
OCZ Technology Group
2 GB ( 2 x 1 GB ) - PC2-8000 / 1000 MHz - DIMM 240-pin - 2 x 1 GB DDR2 Dual Channel Is it even worth it with a E6700,currently running @ 3.0ghz, with 2GB PC2-4200 533MHz 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM but I can't seem to raise my overclock past 3.02 ghz without the system giving me a ram timing issue and shutting itself down.
If these don't work, what would be the best in the 800 MHz range, that I wont need to upgrade later.
Has anyone tried a Yorkfield with this bios P5W-DH-ASUS-Deluxe-2004-G0-45nm-Edition (Modified by lawrywild)
Firstly let me say thank you to the contributors to this thread... Helped me a lot.
I thought I would offer my experience of installing HD3870 in this board after using a X1900XT Crossfire setup.
I removed all ATI drivers and software, shutdown and powered off the PSU. Then removed both my X1900 cards and installed the HD3870 in the master PCI-e graphics slot. After powering up I was locked out at the logon prompt(I connect to a home network and authenticate to a server) by the failure of both the keyboard and mouse. Windows appeared to have locked up.
Anyhow, I messed about for 4 - 5 hours with various boot CDs trying to make things work. Even after reinstall and trying the card in the other PCI-e slots There were lots of problems with undetected hardware and failures of other hardware on the PCI Bus.
I finally reset the mainboard BIOS. ....... And now everything is perfect.
Now the hopefully helpful part of this post is:
If you upgrade to 3870(possibly any PCI-e 2.0 card) from a 1900 Xfire setup, and you have problems, reset the P5W DH BIOS *BEFORE* spending 5 hours diagnosing and fault finding.
very good find thank you for posting this may save someone from pulling there hair out

Would this motherboard support somehow intel core 2 extreme QX9770 processor?
would it even POST?
Hey guys, can you help me???
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=168630
I need a help to do overclock too...can you help me?
I am from brazil, my english is very bad, sorry
Thanks a lot!
I think the worst that will happen is it will refuse to POST. The risk of any permanent damage to your mobo is practically zero.
My question here is: This board was once displayed on Asus' 45nm compatible mobo list, but I do not see it there any more. Is it 45nm compatible? If so, what is the first BIOS to support 45nm?
The first bios to officially support it (as was on the site) is 2302.
Also, some site managed to get a QX9650 working on the P5W64 WS Pro even though it wasn't "officially" supported, so normally this applies to the P5W DH as well.
To matomatala, I don't think anything can go wrong besides it not POSTing like mentioned above. It will probably boot with a lower FSB if at all.
So the actual voltage in the cpu-z is correct??
setting 1.3400v in the bios its ok for this overclock?
Are my temps too high?
Attachment 68448
Screenshot taken after running prime95 25.5 for about 1 hour. It seems a bit high, especially since I'm running the Corsair Nautilus 500 for my CPU cooler. Do these temps sound about right for a QX6700 @ 3.33GHz? Anyone have the link to the vdroop pencil mod again? I know I can lower my vCore since I drop about 0.06V on vCore at 100% load after a while. And lowering my vCore should help my temps some.
Those temps are too high! you should stay in the low 60's at full load over time to make me happy. Oh and less would be better. I would be working on the introduction of more air to that cooler. What do you idle at? perhaps your fit up is not perfect.

I would have to double check most of them, but I remember setting the CPU vcore to 1.45v, the mem to 2.15v, max the MCH and FSB term, the ram timings had to be set to SPD, and I disabled the Hyperpath 3. Now, TBH I don't know if all these settigns needed to be applied, but I as afetr a quick and dirty overclock just to get it running. I do know the CPU needed at least 1.45v, because 1.4v wasn't stable.
I used to read this post everyday and learned quite a bit in the setup and o/c my board and I thank every poster for it..now my new problem..yesterday my system started acting a little strange..followed by a bsod..rebooted and got past the bios but would bsod again going into windows..tried safe mode still no luck..removed 1 stick of RAM and system finally booted..so I thought..bad stick of RAM..shut down system later on and started again about an hour later..now bios doesn't see my RAID setup..I make sure all my settings are correct in bios and try again and again but still my RAID array is not seen..I don't even get the option to setup RAID..nothing!! So I reset the CMOS and the patient is even worse!! Machine turns on by itself as soon as I apply power!! I get no screens...nothing!! I remove everything connected to my m/b and try RAM, Vid and hdd..but the problem stays the same..I even disconnected all fan headers, case power but as soon as main power is applied m/b starts..removed vid, RAM, hdd from board but as soon as main power switch is turned on..same problem..I figure if I could get into the bios I would be able to do something but I have had no luck getting pass this issue..I think the board is shot and am ready to buy another..anybody agree with me? Thanks

After I enabled "allow remote control to boot/shutdown PC" or something like that in the Remote Control software (inside windows), everytime I turned the PC's power on at the wall the PC would start booting. I disabled this again (inside windows) and everything returned to normal.
