Oh meh gad, finally

275HTT 2.8v 8/1 DS/DDS
Lol see? Sometimes Normal strength works real good ;)
I dont feel the odd man out anymore :D
Very nice work. :woot:Quote:

after playing around a bit more, i don't see a whole lot of difference between weak and normal... it's more that 5 works best, any lower is a no go, and it slowly gets worse as i raise it, though not a lot :DQuote:

how can there be 7 drive strengths for DFI when memory controller supports only weak and normal ?Quote:
D_DRV (D_DRV)—Bit 1. Controls the drive strength of the DRAM device outputs when the DRAM
is driving on a READ command. This bit is required by the DRAM in the Extended Memory
Register Set (EMRS) command. It applies to all outputs.
0 = Normal Drive (default)
1 = Weak Drive (beware)
I mean, why DFI has so many levels for ds ?
6.5 mal? or am i seeing that shot wrong?
im still stuck at 267 and thats still eroring, but only 1 verry rarely in windows memtest..
i see 8ns MAL and 6.5ns RP :DQuote:

I just tried priming and it failed very quickly, which peed me off because it was 3D stable for a good 2 hours... I'm not too sure where to go from here
lol wut i meant 6.5 RP
worked for me @ 267
trying 270 now
also ds8 dd1
Changing ICL back to 16clks helped a lot, been priming for about 10 minutes now, as before it failed within the first minute
Just to make sure heat isn't an issue, I opened up my case and put a room fan blowing right into it :P I'll post if its stable in the AM
Im back it seems im not gonna get 270 no matter if god strikes my machine with a bolt of lightning to the 3.3V rail, im totally unhappy with this purchase man, im really dissapointed right now, totally mad as hell..
i had to back down to 8/1 in order to get prime stable at 275, but now i can't seem to get stable at anything beyond that (been trying 278 for the last several hours). here are my settings:
http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/1386/a642753ih.jpg
first i tried dropping Read Preamble to 6.0 and 6.5
next i tried different settings for ICL (0, 256), and tried each with all three RP settings.
then I disabled Dynamic Idle Cycle Counter and tried ICL and RP changes again.
i dropped Bypass Max to 4x and R/W Queue Bypass to 8x, neither of which had much effect.
lastly i played around with Tref (for lack of any better ideas), gave a little more voltage to my CPU for good measure...
i can pass super pi 32M and OCCT, but no luck with dual prime95. anyone have any suggestions for a memory tweaking noob?
I was stuck at 270 @ 3-3-3 until I tried a few things today. First, I flashed to 704-2BTA which was good to me when I had Crucial Ballistix (also Micron chips). Second, I moved the module in slot-1 to slot-3 and vice versa. Can now run SuperPi 32M at 280 and 2.9v. Not dual-Prime stable however. But 275 @ 2.8v is both SuperPi and dual-Prime stable. :)
Edit: updated screenshot. I tightened a few timings

verry nice sierra...
I got mine 3d stable @ 270 nowhere near prime or memtest windows stable, I figured id burn em in a few hrs overnight and see after that..
I dont think mine are gonna give me anywhere near what iu guys are getting..
Nice 170 btw... 0550 vpmw im guessing
Thanks. Yes, it's a 0550 VPMW. It's dual-Prime stable at 2.9GHz with 1.4v and air cooling.
I don't know about you guys but I tried the 15.6us timings, they gave me SO many errors compared to the 1.95us and 3.9 (the last 8, which are know to be good for 2G, except for the very last one which rapes performance) in that ss I am using 3072, which is what Auto gets from the memory
You guys might want to try those, 3684 helps me a lot, it is known to be the best with the G.Skill HZ kit
Oh btw

Changing ICL to 16clks made the world for me, going to push 280 today, too bad I am getting a new CPU soon so I might need to redo all of this
this is an interesting occurance. :stick:
http://eclipseoc.com/phpwcms_filestorage/1/1_209.png
gonna see if i can finally get those last 2.6mhz :D
side note.. just noticed i forgot smartguardian. voltage is set to 2.8v in the bios
actually Carbine's Trfc is a bit too tight:)
and twr can try 2; rp use 6 with mal 8 will be perfec.
also , if you figure out the DS use normal, then use 6 under ultra-d is most likely the rational number.;)
Thanks for the input OPB, I'll try that now, hopefully I can hit 280 :toast:Quote:

2.8v .03v enabled
I didn't try trfc of 13 yet, but I took OPB's advice and loosened it anyways
I tried changing RP to 6.0 by setting the DRAM Response to Fast (it is at 6.0 with Normal, adding .5) but it would not boot, I'll try 5.5 after though, or auto.
I'm going to try to prime this for a good 30 minutes and see if it fails instantly or not
Edit: Prime failed in a minute
try leaving them on auto and the dram response at "normal", does it not boot with 8.0ns/5.5ns?
for me, i lose a bit of stability when i use twr 3.
I changed my tRef to my more stable 3684, now its chugging away at prime (been 40 minutes)
I will try changing them to auto/auto/normal as you suggested, and I will also try twr of 2
These are some great sticks :toast:
yup, they're just a challenge to get set up right. once you get there.. :D
Prime ended up failing in 59 minutes, I just booted with auto/auto/normal and did get 8/5.5 for MAL/RP, also changed TWR to 2
I'm going to set RP to 6 and prime it
