i just got a refund on my ballistix cuz i rma'd them 5 times .. would these be a good replacement ?
Yes, simply. :)
No Regrets here, I too got rid of my Ballistixs after only 4 days and they Died on me, i did not want too play the RMA Game like everybody else :D
Already OOS :(
Just gonna have to get some Z503's until these are for sale for more than a couple hours :stick:
I see some others around, Atacom and Bytewize namely, that have them but want $370 and $360 before taxes and shipping for a set of two 1 GB sticks. So these are the same model, but they can't be the same IC's as the original batch can they? They will do 250 I have no doubt, but how much headroom will they have?Quote:

Well im going to be testing some of these out and the Price is right. G.SKILL Extreme Series 500 (PC 4000) 2GBHZ. So I will post what i can run them up too, but for $199 a Much better deal then RMA every other day. Here is a link for them. ;)

yeah, i'm thinking of getting some of those too, my platinum eb's suck :(
i bought these platinum sticks expecting overclocking memory, especially for the price that's being charged for them, ballistix are around the same price
everybody else seems to be able to hit 270-280, but my sticks won't go past 259mhz
when i get some more memory, these r going in a drawer as spares :slapass:
£250 well spent
How are these sticks compared to the Mushkin XP4000 Redline modules? Both are sporting same timings at same speed. I am having a hard time finding these EB locally so am thinking of the Mushkin cause they are easily available. Any comments on this?
i believe the mushkin sticks use the same infineon chips
they'll probably be better than my sticks ;)
Well I have been testing and resetting my config in BIO's and im now up too 267 HTT 1:1 11X on my Opty 148 my MHz are @ 2937 @ 1.48v 47c Load, 9 hours 30 mins Prime, man this Opty is making me work, lol to get my MHz back up to what my 146 did on same ram, I had it stable @ 275 HTT . but my MHz are much higher on the 148 :D These DFI MB's give you so many options too get the MHz's up I love it. I read like a mad man yesterday on setting my DFI MB to go higher and its working 1 MHz at a time so tonight its 268 MHz for testing.:woot:Oh yea I reflashed back too 623-3 BIO I retried the 704-2BTA but kept getting random crashs don't know why but this one is clocking higher and no crash's, so I will stay it it for now.
good that ur opty is working out. Just a small note that it is called BIOS, Basic Input Output System. No BIO, no 's plural :)Quote:

Well these are in stock at atacom.com but at a PRICE damn $367 Dollars I payed $320 from the same place just less then 2 months ago WOW they want to make sure they make a Profit lol
just curious .. what driver str and data drive str and u guys running with these on an expert board ?
::drools::
Can someone tell me all the best settings to use for these in my RDX200 mobo? :)
j/k
I'm a mem newb and the RDX200 doesn't like OC with things set to Auto for DRAM so I'm having to learn about all the DRAM settings.
My _real_ question though is what the heck is the _default_ volt for these?
Specs on OCZ say 2.8v but Anand mentions you need no higher than 2.7v and I swear my RDX200 wanted to set them at 2.65v by default.
Also, my RDX200 always sets them to 3-3-2-7 on Auto, no matter what speed I'm running them. CPUZ shows one SPD table for 250 at 3-3-2-8 settings but running them at 250 and SPD on my RDX200 yields 3-3-2-7. Just thought I'd mention that.
Course when it comes to mem, I don't know enough to know I don't know so who knows?
Just found some of these in stock if anybody is needing them.:D

Hey thanks for that. Finally somewhere under $370. It appears NCIX does not charge sales tax to the States, is that the case? Before I pull the trigger can anyone who got in on the last batch before Christmas confirm these run as well as previous batches, or are they like the latest Mushkin Redline Infineons that will do 3-3-2-8 @ 250 but will not go over 260 at any timings?Quote:

I was running 277 on my 146 opty but my 148 does not like much over 267 prime, it will run 271 gaming but gives me errors in prime. But it will game all night @ 270. I had Ballistix before this but they died in 4 days so I grabbed these 2 months ago when they came out, these wont clock as high but they run COOL and so far NO RMA :D So im happy as hell. I payed $320 Shipped so they have not gone up much here. I think you will have no problem getting 260 HTT I don't know what CPU your running or MB but these will clock High, with a divider and setting my multiplier to 9 X i had them too 315 HTT but I like them set at 1:1 it just gives me better frame rates and im a gamer.
i must be unlucky i guess .. none of my hardware ever clocks good .. so far i tested the ram .. i cant even run 265fsb 1:1 .. kinda sucks .. o well
Well it sounds like you got in on the original batch (Infineon CE-5B?), congratulations. What I want to know is if anyone who purchased EB's recently is having the same problems everyone else is having with 3D stability over ~258 MHz with DDR based on newer Infineon (CE-6?). All other manufacturers using these IC's seemed to have that problem in common and, while I don't want to sell OCZ engineering talent short, unless OCZ got a magic batch or old stock I'm guessing its the same? If so I will stick with my Mushkin UCCC.Quote:

I was running 278 game stable on the 146 but i can only go 267 on the 148 that is 1:1, but this 148 runs much faster with the 11X multi. But I game all night and it runs good, i do alot of gaming so max oc is not what im really into unless it is gaming stable.
