This is a nice one that adds 200mb/s or so to memory performance.Most combine it with the next one but it is also nice to have on its own to enable or disable.

Now I got playing with 2T and found this adds a little performance boost also.

I was able to run ddr600 with 256dimms, the issue comes with 512's, its like the board has issues with the extra load apart from when testing in async mode, where i was able to hit DDR650 1t with a san diego in 500 mode, 3250+MB/s in memtest86+

Im still waiting to see the bios Abit have promised, I asked for TREF, data drive, Drive strength, etc etc to all be added, the only issue is it won't be as good as the DFI as that has tweaks at the harware level also, but we will see.

If this is accurate info then we should see an new bios giving users somewhat of an edge when using these.

Hmmm is it me or did bios 14 just like dissapear off the abit site...... in fact when i looked up the bios for an8-sli all they offer is 15 and no prereleased bioses. so i checked out the an8 fatality and it jumps from bios 13 to 15 .....I might take a chance on 15 possibly windows xp/64 bit xp problems and maybe if im lucky it wont effect win 2k? Hmm tictac you working on anything?need a beta tester?

BTW The reason im ready to upgrade bios is due to something im going to call the 2850 mhz phenomenom. What that means is no matter whether i use a winny venice clawhammer or sandiego i cant seem to go beyond 2850 mhz.....

bellieve it or not, bios 14 actually help me clock higher than bios 13. 50mhz higher on my venice. speed is speed right? hopefully OFFICIAL bios 16 will help me out even more. I didnt try 15 cause of all the issues.

im on 15 now no real issues to report. Oc'ed a little no bsod however bios 15 seems to cause me to have a 2700 mhz phenomenon now...... anything over 2700 is unatainable and i got a weird code from my handy dandy port 80 diagnotic card not to be confused with abits post code reporter. the code is not listed in my post code definition book either. the code i received was
( OP ) anyone care to guess what it stands for. my guess would be preety simple. O= Overclock P= Protection. Could this mean that abit is limiting the boards ability to OC? On another note with bios 13 my ram was (gskill) identified by spd as ddr 500 with looser timings. now its identified as ddr 400 with tighter timings. gonna play around a little with it. I might just have to do the 1mhz at a time trick as that has always seemed to get around ABITS noob protection as i like to call it etc noob shoots for 3 gig out of box board fails to post noob says ahhh shucks i got a crap chip and never tries again. :)

hey guys my new venice seems to have a cold boot issues....WTF is that all about.....i have it at 2.8GHz 1.55V(i can go to 2.9GHz with this voltage so not the low voltage for sure)....restarting is fine...shutting down and booting up no go...need to do the cmos jumper

what happened to tictac...he probably got the boards and is going nuts OCing it :slapass:

could be utt issue like all the DFI boys. I shut my comp down for days sometimes and its boots right up with TCCD no problem. BTW thats a very nice chip you got there.

yah i found all the bioses still testing at the moment. So far i think bios 15 is best when using tccd for stabilty. still testing though.

I have a problem with my 3200+ venice with my TCCD rams on my AN8 SLi if i put too high a vdimm on my rams during booting into windows it will just power down or at high HTT and bios15 has read to write delay time stuck at 4 even i change it to whatever speed.

yep however bios 15 seems to be tccd friendly after conducting my tests.

bios 13 allows more headroom with tccd however prime fails after 4 hours for me

bios 14 allows higher cpu clocks lower tccd clocks and instant failure in prime when using tccd

bios 15 changes alot of the tccd timings however it seems to be coded for tccd as prime runs flawlessly.

Nope no higher clocks but im beggining to think that my sandy is just a dog.

Meh I give up with these chips i have for now. Cmon chilly 1 I need - 25 temps :)

its just a bios related issue. Once they get it fixed (whenever that would be) it should be fine.

I surely hope so.

The worring thing is that the beta bios 16_b00 Abit sent me had the same problem.

Surely Abit can't be that incompetent that they will release another official bios with the same problem.................but chances are they just might infact do just that. :nono:

Abit should really get those bios-teams to work because vurrent bios are really very bad... X2 problems (overclocking),Venice Problems (temperature and memory controller issues), SLI problems... way too much for me, going DFI real soon if the scenery doesn´t change...

I dont think DFI is much better, both have thier own unique set of problems. :rolleyes:
