I just got some more Newarks!

Hey Vandi or someone else able to help:
I am still away travelling but when I get back home to the States in a few weeks I want to sell off all my benching mem and just get 2 x 1GB sticks for 24/7 use.... will that be a problem? I won't expect them to OC, I just want them to sit happy at stock speeds/timings. I'll be using my Newark 3700+ & DFI nF3. The mem I'm looking at is a 2GB Corsair Value Select kit: ZipZoomFly, or Newegg. Just figured I would ask in case the two 1 gig sticks are incompatible with the Newark mem controller or something.
Thanks guys :toast:
Hey guys, My newark is scheduled to be here in a matter of hours. I already have the CNPS9500 waiting for it's new home. When you guys mounted your heatsinks on this CPU did you use a pad or anything on the sides of the CPU to soften the stress on the core, or did you just plop it down and go? Also, if you did, do you know if it's neccesary or not to use a pad? Sorry for the n00b question, this is the first time I've used a CPU with an exposed core.
can't vouch for 2x1gb, but my newark loves my 1gb crucial value stick, made it to 263mhz with stock timings :cool:Quote:

2750 because mine wont do 3 ghz on my air setup becaus eof the fact that I dont wanna give it more than 1.6
At 2.75 shes sitting comfortably at 1.52-.54 and can go higher but im comfortable here for now.
I just wanna sell this Newark and get me an x2 so me and my 2 gigs can scream on the battlefield :) :woot:
So you are using 2 x 1GB Patriot with your Newark and it works okay?Quote:

Temps are nice with this CNPS9500 with 32C at idle and 41C at full load. (Full load = Prime95 blend for 30Minutes). I'm gonna try for the 3.0GHz mark tonight! Wish me luck.
nope right now im using only one gig stick at 251 2.5-3-2-5
Sucks for bf2 though have tio run med settings
good luck with ur 3 gig mark, mine used to be able to do it but lately it seems to top out lil over 2.9ish
cant prime anywhere over 2880 for some reason, i think the chipped corners of the core have something to do with this, still 2.9 is truely respectable imn my opinion.
I wish you luck with ur 3 gig mark man :toast:
Twilius I should be able to post some preliminary results with 2X1 gig on the patriot mem by the middle of next week cuz my newark will be here monday. :woot: Hopefully they'll run at a decent speed. Im not lookin to break any records with this setup just some search and destroy missions.(C4 is  )
good luck learners premit with ur newark mine is in process of being sold as i type this, it was a fun ride but I want a x2 now and dual channel badly for my bf2 rig..
you should easily hit 2.8 - 2.9 I would guess
If ur mem works with ur newark ima spam every post I see with ur name on it dude...
lol
Thanks man I'll give these modules hell and if they suk ill give em to my son and get some different ones.
Preliminary results are in sig has been updated. So far not much luck getting these modules to run faster than 180mhz. I'm begining to think its a mem controller limitation as previously presumed by Philosiphy.I do not give up the struggle merely takin a break and planting some C-4 :) . Although these results do not reflect a terribly impressive ammount of mem bandwidth my gaming results are much better than anticipated. The additional 380+ mhz core speed has eliminated the video stagger I often encountered running my clawhammer 3700 during online BF2 matches. The SSE3 instruction set support this processor has adds an all new dynamic to controlling vehicles as well as some really sweet graphical enhancements too. The point of all this babble is if you your computing on a budget like me then I think you'll be as happy as I am to be able to keep your socket 754 system alive and well for awhile longer. I will keep sig updated with any improvements as I go.
Thanks for the update LP. Do you think these results reflect all 1GB modules with this CPU or only the Patriots? I'm looking at Mushkin 1GB sticks, looking for better performance than what these GH sticks are offering.
certainly not all 1gb sticks, as i hit 263mhz with my newark and some 1gb crucial value. there's probably something in the secondary timings messing with the results. good luck pushing it LP. 2952mhz with 1.52v eh? i would assume this is stable? :toast:
noice!!!
Great Thread so far and I got inspired to get one of those mobile Chips. Currently I have a Athlon64 3200+ mobile, older BIX5AR.
Maybe you guys can help me out i m looking for the 4000+ but it seems like its not available for End User.
How about the Turion64 CPU's. Anybody knows to what a MT-37 evtl. can overclock.
Here is what i have in mind.
Asus K8N4-E Deluxe
Sapphire X800 GTO2 (X850 XTPE mod)
2x512mb GEiL UltraX PC3200 CL 2 2 2 (Newegg has the 512mb Sticks for $58 + S/H)
CPU right now mobile 3200+ but I would like to get either a 4000+ or a Turion if they overclock well.
Yes 2952@1.525v and 104% its prime occt and everything else I can throw at it stable. CPU-Z reports volts at 1.536. Side note. This setup will break 7000 on 3dmark05 with the chiller running but its to damn cold here in Or. to run it this time of year. Also wanted to thank Philosophy,Vandi, and New-B for everything you guys have done for me without you guys I'd still be struggling to get this thing moving.Thnx guys.
So U have them 1 gig sticks doin 210 fsb right now?
Awesome clockes also dude looks like you made the right move huh bro :P
:toast:
Yea kinda sucks cuz i cant get them to run 1/1 so a 183 divider was the only solution. One stick is good up to 248 the other only 238. Oh well Im really happy with this processor tho.
Hey learners, did you ever decide to update to 6/23 Beta and see if that resolved any of your memory issues? Nice clocks BTW. :)
Hey does anyone know if the DFI Infinity NF4X is compatible with Newarks?
Also, when are we going to see the Newark 4000+ in action?
i found that 6-23 was pretty nice for my newark. definitly give it a shot :toast:Quote:

Hey ozzi, were you able to fix the "IDE RAID Detect" issue with you Newark? Every once in a while whether changing something in the bios or just booting/rebooting I'll get that error on occasion. I'll let the computer not find a RAID and then it will reboot and usually will then boot to the OS. Kinda annoying though, when fiddeling with Ram timings for that to come up when I just want to get into memtest lol.Quote:
