Hmmm, doesn't this page from the OCZ website refute your claim?Quote:

If u meant my post above u, I was talking about Corsair, whose claim has always been that they started manufacturing their XL and 4400C25 series using TCCD chips since DAY 1. Now there has been 1 user who got the guts to remove the heatspreaders and found that the chips were TCC5.Quote:

That says Winbond made the chips on the ram, not what chip from winbond, so technically Andy is correct in his statement.Quote:

gostworm must be on drugs.... Ram Guy finally responded... So if it's TCCD you wan't then CORSAIR is the place to look :banana:Quote:

Today I recieved two single sticks of CMX512-4400C25PT XMS4404v1.1 from zipzoomfly. Heatspreader date code on both sticks is 0517. I opened up one side of one stick. Chip date code is 510 TCCD :fact:
did you get ZZF special for $79 :stick:
Yes I did. Why do you ask? I see they are now $105 each. Mine are identical right down to the lot codes. Waiting on the rest of my stuff to arrive to give them a try. This will be my first A64 system.
I asked because that sale lasted about 10min...lol I'ts a great buy at $160 for a gig of TCCD. :toast:Quote:

Anyhow the other side of the one stick that I opened has Chip date code 513 TCCD.
Am I right in thinking that the heat spreaders do somewhere between nothing and nothing good? Leave them on or take them off?
Mushkin
991400 1GB XP4400 Dual Pack 2.5-4-4 (2x512MB)
991399 512MB XP4400 2.5-4-4
Are both TCCD as well.
Duonger
someone should really remove the ocz rev.2 from the tccd list, its misleading now and people will be pretty disappointed when they end up paying for something other then what they wanted. G.skill garantees tccd.
is there anyone else out there that can confirm this? I have this ram but don't want to remove heat spreader. But it seems that I can't do 270 1:1 with my cpu so either this ram isn't TCCD or my 3000+ winnie doesn't have a great memory controllerQuote:

might be corsair persuaded samsung to run another batch or two of tccd just for them
I can confirm that Corsair XMS PC3200C2 Rev4.2 2-3-3-6-1T is NOT TCCD but is actually TCC5.
it depends. i know for sure that there are v4.2's with tccd.
