One thing to remember with Dice, the team that works on patching never is the development team but a secondary patch only team (eg Dice in Canada did BF2 patching while DICE in Europe, of which developed BF2, handled 2142s development ) Obviously in an ideal world the same team who designed and developed the game would be the ones to perform upkeep and updates but for their own reasons they don't do this.
I do agree that this is all marketing on EAs behalf to try ot take some of Activision's market share but hell, I don't blame them. I am already offended by the games price, then their online changes and now after seeing the intro level I am pretty much determined to ridicule the game completely ( and don't get me wrong I play GTA4 and Fallout 3 both which are quite violent games but neither are remotely as disturbing as the intro level of MW2, and I barely even have standards... I'm no Jack Thompson and I think censorship is a dangerous thing but we have to draw *some* lines - you get to a point where you *do* think about the kids and lets face it despite the games rating, thousands of minors will be exposed to the game regardless ) I am more than sure it is going to be in the news shortly after its launch due to the first level.
