Was the question over possible corrosion with this thing ever settled? I was thinking about using one of these to use in a little mini-ITX build, but the aluminum rad + copper block seems like a huge warning sign to me. I searched back through this thread and others also brought up the same question, but I never saw a definitive answer except to guess there is a ton of anti-corrosion in their liquid. Anyone know?

according to corsair, the tubes are 11inches long, I don't know from which point they measured that and also how flexible the tubes are ?

I don't think the airflow is that good enough at the front of that case mate, unless you start overmodding the HD casing and the front of the case... I would just use it ,as it's foreseen to be used, drawing ambient air via the rear... better modding would be a sidefan in ya case door to suck hot air out. Tubes are very rigid and about 22 cm long, I measured them from the center of the CPU/PUMP block till the rad (with some flex forseen )
I've tried using the H50, outside of the case, result : zero performance gain, but the case ambient's were 5-8°C lower after an hour of tests...

The intake fan is in awkward position to really be considerd as an intake fan.
I was also thinking, instead of your idea, making an exhaust in the top of the case. I've got 13cm between the end of the PSU and the end of my DVDwriter. (case=antec sonataII btw)

If you get the air flowing in ya case it will probably be a tad better then ya TRUE (but I would really opt for that sidepanel mod to suck hot air out) but don't expect the announced 10°C difference... Keep us posted how it goes...

I think the case has a lot to do with it :up:

Bumping up an old thread....did I read somehwre that mounting it a certain way on the cpu results in gains?
Secondly I have two sets of fans that I could use. The 1450 GT's and the Yateloon High speeds, WOuld I get much better temps with high speed yates....the GT's seem to perform well with radiators and the yates didnt do anything for temps on my Baram.
someone posted tht turning it up side down ( logo of Corsair as reference ) jielded better results... I've not tested it in a different orientation so I cannot confirm them findings... thing what you have if you mount it and then remount it, you probably have replaced the TIM which could jield slightly better results... for the fans I had slightly better results with high flow/speed fans, though the noise/temp gain ratio was not good at all :) review with diferent tests at eg www.madshrimps.com webbie...
Hey just the person I was wishing would answer the question...what I am planning to do is have the inflow thru the 2 GT's on the radiator and the outflow from the top with 2 yates....how does that sound?
Should be good mate, hope you feel happy with the H50, for me it was a nice replacement for my TRUE... and it's a sort of show off thingy at LAN parties :p

Sorry for the double post, but got my cooler today and had it installed in an hour flat...
Played around with the fans a bit and finally got two fans drawing air into the case from the side panel and the H50 in P/P pushing air out of the case....some observations I had:
1. If you have good inflow use that to keep the radiator on outflow mode
2. Warm intake air makes a big difference to temps, in the range of about 2-3 degrees on load. The reason this happened for me, was when I was trying P/P with intake, my top fans were exhausting hot air, which was then being pulled in by the rear radiator fans. I have a Sniper case and as u guys know it has a plastic piece on top, which kind of moves the air towards the outside rear of the case. Now as my case was under a table, the intake fans were sucking this in. Moving the case from under the table made a difference.
3. I am going to test this vs. a Baram and would like to know if u guys want me to try anything specific in terms of tests...I plan on using prime.
4. I am using 1450 GT's so they are absolutely quiet and I can barely hear the pump. While gaming my gpu makes a lot more noise.
I have used about 4 different air coolers in the last year or so and I can definitely say this is very good for the price. I have just finished stock load and idle testing. Its about the same on idle and around 3-4 degrees better on load...will be overclocking some to see the difference at higher loads...mind that I am using a 140 W 965, so that does throw up some significant heat.
EDIT: DO u need more than the normal amount of TIM on this....have just put a very thin layer on the cpu, spread out with the finger in plastic method.
Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting this Corsair H50 cooler for a new build but was wondering about the longevity of such a device.
Corsair states that the evaporation is low but given that the coolant resides in a closed loop (with no way to refill), how long before the cooler becomes unusable due to evaporation?

Mav, I don't think anyone has had to fill it yet. Well, unless they screwed up. If it leaked I'm sure it's under warrenty. I don't see any docs anywhere on how to refill it, it's a sealed unit, not meant to be opened. Gonna be hard to fill/bleed unless there is a fill port on it somewhere. Thankfully I don't own one and don't have to find out.
When I opened my first sample I spilled too much ( due to my fault ), refilled it with a syringe via the opened unit, then extra drops via via the leak screw.. but it still isn't as filled properly as the unopenend sample... more gurgling sound at startup)
I am very proud of this little Corsair H50. I bought it as an alternative to a TRUE after having a good experience with other Corsair products (800D, Dominator, power supply). I have been able to run at 4.2 for months, with P95 load temps in the high 60, low 70 range.
I have now ditched the default Corsair fan and put a Panaflo 120x38 @ 2200-3200 rpm. Works great! Currently testing 4.5 (215x21 @ 1.5 V). It's been going for about 15 hours now, load temps approach 80C, but it is alot of Vcore/QPI/ICH, what else did I expect?
I figure there is no excuse to not be Xtreme! The damn Core i7 CPU is not only one of the cheapest chips I have ever purchased, but these days is the cheapest thing in my rig (Microcenter $199). And thats not considering that it has a 3 year warranty. I say let them burn!
