Any chance we could see a photo of the Corsair next to the 840? I would be really interested to see how they compare, looks and form-factor wise, as well as width.
840 is garbage next to the Corsair, Cooler Master lately has been having some real issues with quality control, i know many e-tailers who dropped them because of it.Quote:

I don't know what your talking about the 840 is a kick ass case that I'll still be using for my other rigs. I haven't had any problem with it. Unlike some people with the Corsair case (alignment issues, broken hinges, scratched window, bad hot swap header...). Every company has quality control issue, but what makes them better then the other is the customer service. There top notch (Corsair) :)Quote:

It looks like you can just pop (drill) out the 4-5 rivets in the front of the case and the lower HDD cage should just slide out.Quote:

The Corsair Obsidian 800D looks cool, but the CM ATCS 840 destroys it as a whole. Why? Well, the ATCS 840 is cheaper, it's made of very thick aluminum all around (save the side panels), it has better water cooling potential (by default, you can use a 360 rad and a 240 rad inside), better airflow, and a removable motherboard tray. Hell, I'd take the HAF 932 over the 800D. Better airflow and water cooling potential, for $130 less. I can't see a way to use a 360 rad on the bottom of the Obsidian 800D. You won't be using any rad down there by default.
If the price on the Obsidian 800D was $180 max, it might be worth looking at. But $280 for an almost all steel case that has worse airflow/water cooling potential compared to several much cheaper cases seems silly to me. Of course, people will buy it since it has Corsair's name on it.
What? The only reviews I've seen that actually report temps show that the Corsair is on par with the likes of the HAF 932 and Silverstone's and Lian Li's, all while producing LESS NOISE. Are you comparing them yourself and finding your own results? If not, please post links where others have. I own an 840, and I LOVE it, but I don't think it "destroys" the Corsair 800D. I still had to cut more holes for cable management, paint the inside black, and I haven't had time to cut my window yet. If the Corsair 800D had been available when I bought my Cooler master, it would've been worth the extra $100 NOT to have to do all that crap by hand. I enjoy doing it, but my time is on a premium, and for $100 I would've saved HOURS of work, and about $30 in paint, acrylic, and other modding materials that already come STOCK in the Corsair.Quote:

I didn't buy the case because Corsair's name was on it... I bought it because it's straight up an amazing case. You pay the extra $100 over the ATCS 840, HAF 932, etc for a fully anodized black interior, four hotswap bays, the best cable management out there, and a rock solid frame. It's not aluminum, that's the biggest downfall, and the lower drive bays require a drill to remove (wooo... not too hard), but other than that it works fine.
I got the ATCS 840 and the 800D and found by air cooling temos to be cooler in the 800D for both CPU and grapics card. In the UK it looks like a £20-£30 price difference between the two cases and i got to say that after using both i would pay the extra for the 800D with out hesitation. In MY opinion its better in every department although i do still love my ATCS 840 (even though i gotta sell it)
