This thread include the GA-MA790FX-UD5P - or is there another thread with that - i couldnt find it......
It is just the DDR2 version of the GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
Need some help overclocking on it - came from a Rampage Formula and have no idea of half the options (never overclocked an AMD before)
Are you guys able to use AOD 3 with the new Bios?
When I try to set individual cores, it changes none or if I select core 3, it changes them all.
Just got my OCZ sticks today, still haven't played with them but they are running stock rated timings at stock volts stable with the same 3.6Ghz CPU OC as with my old sticks... just plug and play pretty much for considerably tighter timings.
I may consider trying CL6 and 1333, not sure whether I would even be able to tell the difference. The new mem seems to have taken the hiccups out of windows boot and a slight pause before an app loads has been pretty much eradicated, so I would say my system is running more stable as a whole. The G.Skill sticks were good for the price but don't compare to these.
I will download it again.
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion on the ram chew, I've been stuck on G.Skill for the last few builds and never used OCZ before, it seems to be running great for me!
Whats the max vcore i should put through my 955?
doing some dry ice runs with my ud5p and a 955BE:
this is bootable into windows :yepp:

Nice result mate!
thanks!
But I fell asleep during the dry ice run and killed the Mobo
did pick up another one and the cpu is still working like a champ!
now i have 2 955be cpu's laying around!
well, I am impressed with the UD5P!
320 FSB using the stock HSF is the best I ever did with an AMD chip
just ran wprime for some quick stability tests.

Really nice clocks man, Gratz..
I really think you may be focusing too much on the HTref clock though, lowering all your multis/mem divider to push that clock is probably not the best way to OC on the PhenomII....
You have an unlocked chip, I would suggest using multis to find your best settings, and then using the HTref to dial in the final tweaks.... ;)
It's nice to know that the UD5P can do 320 HTref, but I really don't see how it's going to help performance or stablility on a 955...
not bad 4 27 bucks :yepp:

actually, this is far from my final overclock. I am far from stable.
and I never use stock Heatsinks for 24/7 use ;) Final cooling will most likely be water cooling.
I also have to take into account the large temp swings we get here. 40-50 degree temp swings are common here. it might be in the 40's in the morning, but we may hit in the 90's at the hottest part of the Day. on that screenshot, I was already hitting 67C during full load and that was done in the early morning. by the hottest part of the day, that would be up to 75-80C with those same settings.
But, now I have the Basic parameters to work with.
I now have plenty of FSB, cpu multi's and mem multi's to find the best overclock.
I have already found an area to avoid. at around 275 FSB at same cpu overclock, wprime32 was almost a 1/2 sec slower in the run.
final overclock will take me about 2 weeks to find. but, I will have a lot of fun with this cpu and mobo combo as I have a lot to play with for settings :yepp:
the ram cheap ass hell:rofl:
whau MSI max, its AIR cooling?
nah im on water
i have to get some dice now
