What is that ?
Ram or CPU overclocking ? ;)
Cos i've got SuperPI 32M @ 3:4 Ram and as i said F5H rullez all the way on my water cooled Q6600

LOL.........funny guy..........i wasnt trying to show off, and if i wanted to use 2gb's i would have kept my D9s which did 650 stable.......this is my main system im not trying to break any records....and 3.8ghz for a q6600 on air is damn good.....oh and superpi is not a stability test, not even close, id like to see you pass occt ram test for a couple of hours before you start bragging about your OC.
I wasnt saying you use micron, i was saying i had microns wich could reach those speeds, but i need 4gb's of ram, 2gb is not enough for me, so i dont mind 100mhz less for more ram, 100mhz really doesnt make much of a difference, its really your FSB wich could give you higher memory performance...
So no new bios then?....guess Gigabyte have given up and realised no bios can fix the inherent issues with the X38 boards.
Come on Richard, I'm still using F3, and hoping a new one with some huge differences will come soon!!!
I've lost faith my friend.
is there any problem on my vga card if i have the pci-e to +0.35 24/7?
guys if you are running a quad and fighting with high FSB stability boot the machine with Static tRead Value =9 (you can try even looser but i suggest that)
i tested both X38-DQ6 F6B bios and P35T-DQ6 with latest beta bios F5 something and with that setting i can boot and bench at 450MHz FSB
that bios value relates to Performance level you see in memset i'm pretty sure
and in windows you can actually tighten it to improve your 2D/3D performance but somehow it doesn't like booting with it straight from the bios :)
thanks dinos22 for that tip...does the X38 "T" version work the exact same way as the DDR2 version?
Realtek 889A codec drivers, version 1.82:

Alright, a quick note, i gained 150 points in 3dmark 06 by connecting the molex pci-e connector on the top right of the board, i would suggest everyone to connect it, wont hurt to get a bit more performance.
Hey, is there any hard mod for this board - X38-DQ6? I dont like vdrop, its pretty much and 1.6v for CPU is realy low, after it straight +0.05v is not so good!
With eVGA 680i board I could achive 3825Mzh Orthos stable with only 1.472v under prime load, but looks like not with this board, at least not in the beginning
can you let us know what your best OC is with the gigabyte board and how it compares to evga 680i
Team.AU has told Gigabyte that droop and drop need to be addressed and we all get that sort of drop as well. I've tested P35-DS3P and P35T-DQ6 which had very little drop/droop to almost none........ i'm talking 1.45v set in bios idle load 1.44 in windows or 1.43 that's it
these new ones are not that good unfortunately :(
Hmm, first impression of GigaByte board is pretty good, out of the box, F5h BIOS and I am runing Prime95 on Quad at 400 x 6 more than 1 hour easy... I havnt touched setings in bios much, only set memory to 4-4-4-8, 2.00A strap, more voltage to memory ~ 2.2v and CPU as needed, maybe something else lol... but when I tryed 425 x 9 that was ok on one of my eVGA 680i stable with 1.472v under load in Windows, this one is not going, maybe need to change somtehing more... ;)
Must test it more, need to test best BIOS for my CPU, but I cant last, that there is no normaly adjustable voltage only till 1.6v, its to low for Quad with vdrop! Vdrop is something about ~ +/- 0.05v under heavy Quad load from BIOS settings. Any BIOS suggestion? Maybe some new beta? :yepp:
I have gone through few Asus, GigaByte, eVGA boards and best that I liked myself still is eVGA, all the way to go, really great board if you can get it working and support from eVGA is even better!
