You're right to some extent about the tweaks. But what is the point if they don't translate into performance? Tony has already shed light on the strength of this board in 3D. However, I am surprised how close the results are (quite insignificant considering the fact that the scores are in the 6000 range.

Another thing, BadAxe 2 is only a mid-range overclocker. There are better 975X boards out there; including the one in my sig :D I am sure with time and maturity (maybe not, since this is supposedly the last ATi chipset for Intel) things might look different, but considering how much time has been devoted to tweaking the current bios (a fact that has led to the delay) you'd think that there may not be much more juice to be squeezed out of it.

Tony has said there should be some on sale before Xmas. Keep it mind it will be less than 100. More will come in January.

is it possible to use Areca 1210 RAID card in one of the PCI Express x16 slots on RD600? Are they configurable to run at 4x or 8x?

this RD600<680i by 75 watts? wtf even if it gets to 975x with the northbridge voltage maxed that's still 40W less...

I don't think so could be wrong But i thought that 3rd slot was for another ati card to run pyhsics. not sure.

from that review looks like 975 is still the way to go for record breakers.

Maybe maxed out OC it beats the 975. i mean 975 beats it clock for clock but RD600 hits 510fsb with 600 mem, something the 975 cant touch ever. so maybe that will give it the edge.

Yeah Revv23, but tbqh, the amount of time :rolleyes: that has lapsed around this board has made the edge very thin. So much so, I might just go buy Bad Axe2 & be done with it.

Yes it`s possible. You won`t have to configure anything - just plug`n`play :)

I don't think so. It looks like this chip has a lot in common with the 965, they overclock well but at the expense of relaxed "internal" timings. No?
