Hmm ok, the cooler of the cpu stay`s spinning, normal it spins slowly after 5 sec but I don`t think a conroe cpu will die so fast, I`m thinking the mem is dead because on a new p5b vanilla I get the same results :rolleyes: .

No it wasn't crazy he sent me a copy of it to, its got nice pretty colours on the RAM voltage section going from white up to red as it goes through the spectrum. Apart from that it hasn't changed anything for me personally though

F6a is a big sh*t for me : my rfactor fps drops too much (40 fps instead of 180) ! :eek:

I'm using the DS3 and E6400 and I can't seem to overclock much at all. I tried 280FSB instead of 266 and it loaded fine into windows but then froze up. Then I tried 300FSB and it didn't even boot into windows (I got to the Windows loading screen and that's it)

I'm using the F4 BIOS but I'm not sure if the F5 would make a difference. I also tried disabling all USB devices and such mentioned on other boards but to no available. I also attempted overclocking in Windows with Easytune 5, and if I go +5% or more overclocking and click Go I get a BSOD.

RAM shouldn't be a problem, i'm using 2GB of Corsair DDR2 800MHz @ 5-5-5-12 or something.

Does anyone know what happens to the southbridge when OCing the FSB? My NB is cool at the touch, only my southbridge is a bit warm, does it OC as well with the FSB?!? GA-965P-ds4 flashed to DQ6

hello,
i've a "cold boot" problem whit my ds3. Every morning the first booup it's a trouble. When i press the power button my system seems dead. I've to unplug the psu power cord, reinsert it and then the system starts. This happens also whit the PC at default. Once started the system it's rocksolid and I can reboot whitout problem.

core 2 due 6600
ds3 gigabyte
2giga gskill hz s/n 63209.....
psu antec phantom 500
sound card wavio pci90
tv card hauppauge 1100hvr
2 hd sata samsung 250gb
1 dvd rom lg

Which BIOS ? I had coldboot problems with the stock bios ( F1 ).

i have c1 rev.of chipset on dq6...c2v rev. overclock better,,,,who have c1 rev?cpu-z 1.36 have id for 965 chip set...c1 rev have 400mhz fsb?

well, maybe it`s finished but not availble. Realy, don`t believe the reviews. The testers get cherry picked boards, if the consumer buy`s it, it`s like 75 procent of the speed of the testers ( for example retail conroe )

Have you disabled most of the options in the advanced chipset feature?

That helped me get better overclocks.

Do you think that a coldboot problem can be solve whit a bios update? I mean the pc seems dead and i don't know if it can read the bios at all.

Yes. The thing is i'm not even getting decent overclocks +5% is barely nothing.

Guys, what do you have on your +5V rail? At around 50% load at 350x8 (2.8GHz with default volts), I'm at 4.78 according to SpeedFan. That's using an OCZ 700W GameXStream with:

E6400
DS3
2GB G.Skill PK 4-4-4-12
Gigabyte 7950GX2
Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic
1x DVD-RW, 2x 7200RPM HDD
3x 120mm fans
4x UV cold cathodes

What's wrong?
