I yet again just got off the phone with Asus.
They have NO 3870X2 replacement cards, so I'm supposed to get an email shortly outlining my options. This should be highly entertaining
I think the only thing I'm going to get is a ulcer altho a couple of 4850's or 4870's would be sweet and worth all the aggravation
Still waiting for the Asus email
Hey at least your RMA team can tell you that there isn't available. I know there's none because tehys topped selling them over here a few months back but my team can't even tell me where my card is or even what's happening.
So I phone around and around through Asus and around in circles I go. Do I get anywhere? No. "please email us details and we shall look at emailing you back". F*CK OFF! I want my feckin card fixed or a new 4870X2! (lol idealy the 2nd seeing as how I used my 3870X2 was like 3 weeks before it blew and been left with a dead card ever since and that was 5 months ago)
So I'll phone again tomorrow and if I don't get put through to someone then off to trading standards I go.

Its truely frustrating for sure.
5 Months is unexceptable I would start leaning on them hard.
I would call the rma centre and ask to speek to a supervisor, bypass the customer service drone and go to someone who can make a decision.
I call everyday since August 5th regardless of what they tell me.
Once my card is shipped I will stop calling. Its the first thing I do when I walk in the dooor from work, I dont even take my boots off:rofl:
Lol thast teh thing - I have to speak to the supervisor cause everyone else paps me off and says talk to him and don't want to deal with me any more. He's moaning at Asus but doesn't sound like he's really lifting a finger. I just phone them every day and moan - still no further forward. Trading standards are about to get involved ;)

ok people enough about video card RMA's... there are video card sections for this
we need more voices about the new 1207 bios....
Both Read and Copy have good improvements.
Yup, 308 definitely seems to be the best.
0308 has given me good bandwidth and a nice stable oc.
Here is 0308 and 0403 compared at 537 mhz buss speed on my system
0308:

0403:

I have been using 0403 for a good period, but 0308 seems to give a little more BW. Will try that for know and see if that also if 100% stable at same oc.
The ram i just running standard settings, have not tried tweaking timings lower yet

Some Everest , please ? ;)
It's an Asus 3870X2 - they just called to say it'll be replaced next week so no free upgrades :(
Oh well... hopefully Mike will bring me home some TIM tonight and I can get the 8600 in :D

Thanks alot. I love this mobo and can't understand all the flaming Asus gets on different forums. 537 mhz on a x38 chipset with 4 sticks of memory is very good i think, and the memory is just some cheap kingston pc 8500.
I have tested it all day now and it is totally stable like then used bios 0403, so i can full recommed bios 0308 like all the others in the thread
Performance level = 8
Dram Static Read control = disabled
Ai Clock Twister = Moderate
DRAM Voltage = 2,0 bios and 2,098 real
FSB Termination voltage = 1,38
NB Voltage = 1,39
SB Voltage = 1,075
Full stable. 4 hours Prime95, 2 hours OCCT, and the hardest ever test - Intel Burn test - full stable.
The secret of such high result with obly 1000MHz is the synchro 1:1.
I`m going to buy M2F and do 600Mhz FSB and again 1:1.
Quick question - does 308 work with the new E8600? Or do I HAVE to go to 407?
~Bex
Hey Grnfinger, any results with your E8600 on the Maximus yet?
