Someone help me with what I mentioned 5 postings up.

Yes, i found out that i could run PL 9 at 533 mhz. It was another setting that day i had tried which had been wrong. I got a better everedt benchmark now and a really good latency i think for those 4 sticks:

Edit: i have posted a smaller screenshot.
Yesterday I did 2 things with my comp; swaped the 8800gt out for a 4870, and updated everest from about 4.30 to latest 4.50 version.
I am seeing something a bit strange; both the NB and the SB looks to be hotter, definatly the SB at least. Now they are both showing same temps, SB used to be colder; about 50 degree C, and higher.
Can this be due to the new gfx card, or had everest a bug earlier? Yes its hotter now in the summer here, and yes I have set the gfx card fan higher then default to not fry it. I have checked inside the case, and it dont seem to me there is alot of heat comming from the gfx card INSIDE the case, most is vented out.
Any ideas?..
Edit:
Can it be a bug in the old bios I am using? If I should update, what version should I go for?..

Nothing on hwo to help my little problem or if could someone help me work out what on earth my RAM is trying to do? (it's possibly the problem)

Post your complete bios setup.
Test your ram @ stock with memtest
Once you can rule out bad sticks we can tweak the bios from there
pull 1 card then the other to make sure they both work, you could havea defective card
Make sure you have the 6 pin connectors on BOTH cards.
Other than that reinstall the drivers
I posted previously - and it's not a bad stick - I meant I don't know what it's running at because if I tell it to run at a certain speed it doesn't boot but if I leave it on Auto it boots fine.

Does anybody knows where u can measer the PLL voltage on the board ?
I think it says atthe start of the thread does it not?

Hi, I was curious as to what drivers I would download for a P5E flashed to Rampage; would I still get all the drivers on the Asus site for the P5E or for the Rampage?
I have not yet actually set up the board yet, but am I correct in assuming that I will get better OC ability and stability if I flash to the Rampage?
Thanks in advance for any help :)
Drivers are the same i think, i use the P5E.
Guys , does anyone have (or have had/tested) a Maximus Formula SE ? Does the factory water block do much ? Can I remove the water block and make a dice pot to mount there instead ?
I've got an SE with the original block. It's.... ok. Not great. I'm still debating whether or not to change it for an EK 1. I think I lack the confidence more than anything :(
If you click on the first page theres links to those who've removed the block etc.

It actually works pretty well once you reseat the block with AS5 or Ceramique.
I have a MCW30 and did not bother to mount it cause the block works well enough.
I run NB volts at around 1.53/55 and temps are 30 idle 38-40 full load.
Thats with CPU and GPU in the loop
Hi can anyone post their rampage overclock setting with a q9450 cpu? i would just like to hit 3.4GHz? I have ocz reaper 1066Mhz 5-5-5-15 pc2 8500 ram. Thanks very much

Sweet, changed to Rampage bios and there is an 10Mhz stable FSB Bonus and a faster boot. all on air, look at Vnb and Vfsb preaty low...
Excellent work above ^^^^. Nice chip!
Running 4gb's of DDR2 1200 and I'm quite sure all is stable on that end. I got my Q6600 to 4ghz on my DFI P35 Dark, and I can't quite get it on my Rampage. Using 308 bios. I was using XP on the DFi and am using Vista on the Asus. I can get into Vista but Prime95 results in an immediate blue screen. I'd love any help on how to make this happen.:)

Hey guys, its has been a while since i visited last (at least a week)
Anyway, i am contemplating switching to the Rampage BIOS 0403
I currently have the Formula BIOS 1102 and my Q6700 at 3.0 GHz (333 x 9) at a Vcore of 1.20V and the machine is very stable with 8 GB of DDR2-667 ram installed
I am not making the move to the Rampage BIOS for overclocking purposes, but really for the faster boot time it gives
I need your advice on sticking with a very stable Formula setup or jump to the Rampage BIOS for faster boot and perhaps some other added features???
Please give your sound advice
Regards
Kevin
I agree it is too much voltage for 24/7, but this is just for benching and it's on water. Like I said it did work with the DFi board with my RAM at 1200mhz. I've tested my RAM stable on 2.2v's up to 1300mhz so far. This leads me to believe that I don't have everything setup correctly bios-wise on the Rampage.
Mine runs 1.58v (1.56 real) and has done for a few months now. Tried to swap it over through teh PLL but I'm having no joy :(
~Bex
Well seeing as your majority of settings are auto I would agree that everything is not setup accordingly.
But regardless this is a different board so same clock are not a guarantee.
308 is definately the best bios so far it gives max tref value and is the fastest bios for bandwidth.
I will look at your settings and make some suggestions for you to try.
Will post them shortly:D
Off topic but how to do like your ICEQ card?
what kinda 3Dmarks scores do you get?
I have a 3870X2 on RMA with Asus and there dragging there ass on replacing the card....I can grab a ICEQ card super cheap was wondering if its worth it
