Any links on where to apply pencil mod and measure points? or do I have to search all 25 pages of this thread lol

It might be a nice idea to measure your original resistence, and how much is decreases. I haven't dit that first time, and when checked, memory was at 2.9V (Dangerous!!)

Mine original resistance was 310ohm and I lower it to 300ohm (1.85V@1.72V in bios), so again maybe you should check it before, cause it might vary.
Thx Barr3l Rid3r:) Greatly appreciated!

Hi all. Has anyone done the debug mod on a rev 306? First of, I am currently at 392x8 3136 or 47% I thought the unmodded MB would refuse to OC past 30%. I would just leave it as is but I have no idea how cpu voltage is being assigned? Given the results out of the box, I should be able to go higher with addl options
TIA
J
Hi,
I am new to this forum, this being my first post.
Yes, the oc debug mod works on the Rev. 306 board. I just did it a few days ago and I am having excellent results.
Rugged:toast:
I forgot to mention that I am looking for a very simple vdimm mod for this mobo also. 2.2v is not quite cutting it for me. I would like to get to 2.4
I am using some crucial ballistix 5300, I can run 1100mhz + on my p5w64-ws with it at 2.4v was hoping to do the same on this board.
Anyone have any advice???
Thanks

i've got 3 Qs
1. it's Sunday afternoon and i have no equipment but i'd like to do an OC debug mod, how could i do it?
2. i'm currently at 25% burn in, Vfsb 1.27V, Vmch 1.525V, cpu at 3.0GHz and RAM at 1000MHz, if i set burn to 29%, double Prime (small FFT test) reboots my machine. could it be due to lack of Vcore?
3. if i want to get RAM over 1GHz should i raise Vmch, and how much is it safe? i don't know how hot it is but i have placed a 12cm fan over RAM

P.S. U can try the max vmch and vfsb w/ any problem. Anyway,I would use only 1.65v vmch daily
I've just tried to solder the two pins for OC debug and I've failed. PC wouldn't even boot. I got horizontal stirpes on the screen and it stayed that way untill I shut it down. What could go wrong?
Thanks for the reply and the mod that I already read about...
I have read the entire thread.
I was just wondering if there was another simple vdimm mod that anyone knew about?? Sorry, I should have made myself clear.
I read before I ask:toast:
Thanks

Thanks Piotke
Some simple-newbee (and urgent) questions:
1. I'm going to buy E6600 next week, so about BOX cooler:
Is it noisiy after few hours 100% full load?
2. How much OC I can do w/box cooler on BadAxe 304?
3-3.2? or even more?
3. Most important:
I have 4gigs of DDR533 ram, can I set memory to 400? And then to rise the FSB?
is it needed to make 1:1 divider or I can go w/266:200 divider w/C2D?
Sorry guys, I know this is probably already answered, but I have to make decision during next day, so no time for searching the posts.
Any help would be great!
PS-I'm not gonna do any mods, just OC w/"famous" percentage method from BadAxe bios
Can I set memory to 400MHz (2x200)?Quote:

Can it work properly on BadAxe?
I wish to reach 3.0Ghz stabile w/cheap 533Mhz ram, thats the point, and do not want to invest to some expensive memory sticks, as those works fine for me.
May I ask why you didn't just have a look at the manual?Quote:

Thanks.
I didnt get the manual w/mobo, just in plastic bag.
I have two problems with my Bad Axe rev.304.
problem 1:
i can't boot with strap 1333, when i use 4x512 MB (Centon fatD9), with 2x512 MB there is no problem.
problem 2: (1:1 devider)
I did a vdimm mod to raise the vdimm >2.2V. But i can't reach clocks > DDR2/800 (400 MHz), if i set the ram frequency to 401 MHz (DDR2/802) the system is unstable (DDR2/533 in Bios --> 1:1 divider) , it's all the same with 2.2V or 2.6V. I tested all bios, which are available for the bad axe. (4x512 MB).
I also tested the FSB with the DDR2/400 divider and it does 460 MHz @ 1,675VMCH. With the DDR2/667 divider, i can reach ram clocks of 500 MHz + (DDR2/1000).
I pencil modded the vdim and the vcore per the instructions on the vrforums. The problem is the Vcore read point shown on that guide does not work for me. Can anyone point me to the proper place for a working vcore read point? board ver. 503.
Revision 503 is a BadAxe2, if I'm not mistaking, and the guide that I found on VR-Zone is for BadAxe1. No miracle that it's not 100% identical. You did notice that the guide was for BX1, did you? Or is there one for BX2, too?Quote:

I'd really like to help you directly, but I don't have a BX2, that's the problem.
Heres the deal... bought a E6600ES with this pos BADAXE 304 board... the overclock menu is there... and it used to work. i don't know if any mods were previously done to the board but it was running at 3.7ghz stable under water.
I had some bios hang ups so i figured somethings up with this old bios....updated new bios... still hang ups...but now it boots at stock speed no matter what settings i set in the bios... even the memory i set to 5-5-5-15 and it shows up at 5-4-4-13 which according to the board is SPD.
No hang ups with bios now... could of been the keyboard or :banana::banana::banana:ty usb support. but still with these settings i keep getting 2.4ghz and 1.16vcore...measured with dmm
Bios Setting:
vcore 1.55
1333
25%
mch = 1.6
fsb = max v
These settings manage to save in bios but windows and cpu-z still reports 2.4ghz.... the memory on the other hand gets reset to spd every reboot.
HELP!!!
Hey Sigel, I have had some of the same problems as you and I found that I had to remove the battery and clear CMOS for a long time, like overnight. Then I found that going into recovery mode and making my settings from there. Then shut down as it asks you, and move jumper to normal position.
After you have gone through all that you can reboot. Setting should stick and you will get the correct setteing that you have applied.
I cant understand why this has to be done, but it is the only way I have found that applies the setting correctly everytime.
thanx. i had a feeling it could be the battery...i'll give it a shot
