PcCI2iminal, how do you apply the thermal paste ?
OMG that's near 6ghz with ambient cooling! That's crazy even for a low end CPU! :toast: Keep clocking PcCI2iminal! :fact:
air cooler or water(ceramique or AS5) just a little part in the middle of IHS and i put the HS on itQuote:

I'm still playing around with it, I think I can get 5.2Ghz out of it. But this is what I have so far.

nicepun, what is your cooling solution and vcore ?
PcCI2iminal, it seems ok. Try ceramic in that one ! AS5 with a concavous IHS doesn't work well ! ;)

These Preslers can take some serious vcore. Idle was around 41c, load around 53c. I need to resit the heatsink or even lap the processor, but I'll do that later. So far I have it running @4.61 and it's quite stable, I know this because I've been folding two instances for over 24 hours w/o problems.
Additional Comments: I'm still playing around with it but I found a new 24/7 OC.......Check sing.
OK, My 930 still under 1.4 Vcore, now on 1.375 Vcore I get these results with air cooling and system mounted in Cooler Master case

Folks, I've tried to get 4.8 (320fsb) in my 930D today :D
With the pencil vdrop mod I have 1,46v @ full (1,32v in bios).
Also put 1,55v in MCH voltage and 1,30v in FSB Termination voltage.
It seems stable when I run 4 SP2004 on it, 2 one each core.
But sometimes I get a BSOD with the error :
Stop: 0x0000000A (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL*** Address x has base at x - filename
Also occourred the same BSOD with 1,31v in bios ( 1,44v in windows @ full ).
My full temp is 62ºC.
System : P5WD2 Premium 0709 bios + Corsair 5400UL + XFX 7900GT Extreme + be quiet! dark pro P6 600W
Any ideas whats going on ?
Need more vcore ? PSU is weak ? or could it be a SATA related problem ? I only have SATA HD's :(
Cedar Mill 631. Not bad for a $175 chip. :D

What frequency are u running your mem? Try memtest to see if it's stable.Quote:

But I'll try with a lower mem multiplier to be sure.
Nice chip verry nice :clap:Quote:

Memtest passes ok but sometimes I still have the bsod:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ...
Stop: 0x0000000A ...
It stayed ok with all that load for an half hour, but when I closed some of those programs I got a bsod ! Dammm :(
OK, New ones for me with air cooled B1 stepping 930 in PCMark04, PCMark05, ScienceMark2 32bit, Cinebench 9.5. 3DMark05 & 06.
The true test of an overclocked cpu - 6 benchies, better than just running SuperPi and "look how good my cpu is" , which hardly stresses a system at all IMO. :D

IluvIntel, your vcore is wrong ! WFT is happening ?
And as for testing with only one super pi ... lol ... never done that too.
Look at my pic in the post before yours :D
nice overclocks guys, puts my 930 to shame but are you 100% stable at those speeds?
i can do 4.5 on mine but the f@h stable speed is a much lower 4.11 :( mainly due to summer temps tho, cant wait for my 12k a/c btu unit to turn up.
Its always been wrong since I have been using Asus P5WD2-E v1.02G and Cpuz v1.34.1 with 930.Quote:

If I set this in bios:
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/147...res425ghz1.jpg
I get Cpuz reading approx. 0.1v more for Vcore...
Nicepun, Great job on the high stable OC. 4.7, wow.
I have the 940 too, haven't OC'd it yet.
Opinions on what a stable OC might be on stock air? I have the P5WD2- E Premium Mobo.
Something from 4.0-4.4ghz.

Hello,
at first - sorry for my bad english - i am from Germany, but i will try to make me understandably. :D
I have here a EPoX 5EGA+ (i915G) with SDR-DDR-1 at nearly 250 MHz FSB (DDR500 / QDR1000) wit a PENTIUM 550 (One of the first with the D0-Stepping) in combination with the CORSAIR TWINX2048-3500LLPRO. Well, it runs very fast at 3,85 GHZ only with 1,25 Volt and at 4250 MHz (17 * 250 MHz) with only 1,55 Volt. I am very happy with this piece of 90 nm INTEL-Engineer-Wonder. But, now i would like to break some limits for more performance - maybe ~ 5 GHz with the help of 65 nm? :D
I know, that this is not possible with this CPU on this Motherboard (SATA-Recognize-Fail-Error, limit at 250 MHz). Perhabs with a another CPU? I think yes! 250 MHz FSB are possible with this Motherboard and my Good-German-Cooling-Solution (INNOVATEK), that drives my PRESCOTT down to the Room-Temperature, could help me to make it probably - what about a CELERON D 356 or a PENTIUM 651?
Well, what can i expect - what have more performance?
CELERON D 356: 25 * 250 MHz = 6250 MHz
PENTIUM 661: 17 * 250 MHz = 4250 MHz
My question ist - could i really drive the CELERON up to 6 GHz (Voltage-Drop on my Motherboard - max.: 1,55 Volt) or is the 2048 KIB PENTIUM much faster?
P.S.: Thank you for your answer.

mine does 5.5ghz on air @ 1.4v (very hot and just for screen) ,for 6ghz you need a awesome chip on water and a better boardQuote:
