Ugh.. anything above 1.45V causes prime to fail after 7 minutes...
I checked my PWM IC temps and they were over 70C!
Are there any alternatives? Expert? New Asus board?
I don't really want to spend $200 on a new mobo especially since I don't care about SLI... They need to make a non SLI verison of the expert :(
put a fan over the PWM...
Is it still a issue that the Ultra-D is overvolting Dualcore Opterons?
yeah you should jump over to DFI-street under Opteron overclocking section....there are a few posts there of people recording actual and reported voltages with up to 0.11v overvolting witnessedQuote:

On SLI-DR my X2's default is 1.35vcore so rather than Auto I choose 1.35 from BIOS settings. Reboot BIOS will read 1.32 CPUZ will read 1.31 and measured at a MOSFET my DMM {fluke 88} reads 1.357. Then when I apply a load say dual SP2004 it over volts to 1.365.
It's been my experience that what ever voltage you choose that's whats at the MOSFET's with a slight over volt under load. Whats reported by BIOS/CPUZ/SG are low and incorrect.

Room temp = 29C to 30.2C
the pc is dual prime stable goes all the way up to 47c this is on water . this kinda sucks i like the x2 better so far

also FYI it's prime stable as low as 1.42V at 2.6GHz BUT i need more voltage for 32M SuperPI as one of the cores is weaker

stock vcore is 1.312v which probably means around 2500-2550mhz but i'm in 30+C room ambient so might be different for you
i.e. i sold opteron 146 cabye 0540fpbw which did 3000mhz at 1.568v on my rig but buyer in 23-24C ambient managed 3000mhz at 1.5v for the same cpu heh
I am in Australia too so 30C rooms come standard! Already own the Rocket so that will be the one I will use. If I can get this chip to 2.5 and keep it below 50C then I'll be happy (for now).
