actually that gives us a lot more info LOOK FOR THE CABNE they are FX57 cores!! the newer ones appear to be 3700+ 4000+ cores

HermS are you running a gig of ram? I was at 3511mhz with 251mhz 2*256 BH5 to get the same 24s time you got...

Yes AFI 2 x 512 BH-5 @ 244, surprised that it makes that much difference tbh, must be the bank interleaving because my timings are pretty far from optimal at the minute.

3.1Ghz went down

Played some more, raising Vcore helped, 1.6V did nothing more over 1.55V.

Maxing out at 3140 for SuperPi 1M:

Even Improved on 32M, very very close to 3.1GHz

This Gskill isn't doing bad either. :)
Results are watercooled.

This cpu seems to have a rather strange way of telling me it's not stable, instead of giving an error in SuperPi it just bluescreens. :confused:

Feels like the CABNE 0530APMW Opteron 146 is the way to go here... wonder how long those will be available. This is stressful, got to hurry, before AMD realize that the cores doesn't have to be that good.... Guess they allready knows this! Aaaahhh! Panic! :eek:

I guess they already knew from beginning :rolleyes: That stepping will be hard to find from now i think, and i'm afraid next ones are gonna "impact" less.

Question for the people that have a non-"CABNE 0530APMW" Opty....are the corners of your IHS raised or sanded down??

Yeah, my Opty kicked ass with something accidentally enabled on crappy water (*cough*Ricky tweak*cough*), I'll see what else I can get out of it this weekend....:D

Good description of puit cooling (although I can't read that....French?) through pictures.

Pre-amble timing should be at like 7ns or so.

Pushed my 148 a little further:-

1.600v - 317 x 11 (5:6) 3488MHz
1.650v - 318 x 11 (5:6) 3505MHz

It's not scaling so well at these sorts of voltages and I suspect more severe cooling would be needed to push this chip much further... Having said that, I'm very happy with my Opty :toast:

this chip do more or less the same at 1.376 volts and with 1,7volts :(
im using a prommy mach1 moded 404a
dont like volts :slapass:
only gain 50 or 60 mhz with voltage

Yes, like that....but I'm asking people who have any other version. Yours are sanded down (in case anybody needs reference).

Those results are from on a Prommy? I did better with water....can you show us an A64 tweaker shot?

EDIT: HermS....these don't scale with voltage particularly well with any cooling.

As of this moment Ewiz is showing the 148 instock. But as I learned early this week, that doesn't mean they actually have it in stock. They finally shipped my order today. I'm expecting a CABGE since I'm sure by now the CABNE are long gone by now.

Understood Vapor, I meant that this one seemed to scale approximately 20Mhz for every 0.2v added then once above 1.6v the jumps grew considerably smaller if you catch my drift.
