no, i tried 4 or 5 Hyper kits but none can do 32M on this board or on UD5.
on X58 all of them do easily 2133 7-7-6-21 or 2200 7-8-7-22.
honestly i gave up, don't want buy another Hyper kit (and also don't know how to find it...) and ANOTHER time find that works great on X58 but not on P67....
probably better to find some BBSE or well binned PSC.

ah, friday i get another UD5, this one works quite good, can boot directly at 104 MHz of BCLK...so looks like you have to bin even the motherboards.
1 out of 5 can boot directly at high BCLK.

@ demo: look at the SMD capacitors on the back of the "socket", that should be the best place to measure VCORE.

Ok, just any of those SMD caps? ground point on the other end or use the PSU molex ground?

don't know, use a molex as ground and find which cap is what you need to measure vcore.

backplates cover the smd caps at the back of the socket... :P

don't use backplate or solder a wire :D

Im testing with HCI memory now at 768, 4 instances 200% coverage no errors so far, I'll probably stop at 600%. This is still with XMP and 4.8Ghz.

Should be a good indicator that theres no RAM issue, will run memtest86+ later.


Under LinX I get like 90-91c then a BSOD 101 error. dunno if its really worth testing at LinX because it heats up the processor so much.
Bios voltage is set to 1.460 and cpuz sees it around 1.416 loaded under linx

play with offset, the voltage is low at rest and under load jumps on the cpu as much as needed, I use and recommend this, manually set the voltage causes large voltage spikes and down, I measured yesterday meter and a motherboard with BIOS F4 is doing very well the vdroop

F4 on my ends requires me to push VTT at 1.2v to be even remotely stable at 4.5Ghz alone. Im starting to think that 4.8Ghz is not possible on my chip since I've gone as high as 1.475v in bios and I still get a BSOD but this is with LinX and temps are hitting 90+ so I stopped it. I think Ill limit my self to 1.440v in bios or nothing more than 1.415v loaded as it might degrade my chip.

I've been using offset as well, +0.070v this gives me about 1.416v loaded in cpuz. Still getting a round off error at 4.8Ghz.

Do you guys use LinX or just limit to Prime95 blend/Vantage/06/3dmark11 ?

EDIT:

Got my DMM and checked the read out points "NORMAL VOLTAGE" with +0.080 offset gives me 1.428 loaded in CPU-Z but my DMM shows 1.44-1.45

I dropped the offset down to +0.070 and it still shows me 1.44-1.45 but CPU-Z now shows 1.416

My UD5 can boot directly at 104 bclk (it power cycles first, though). I haven't tried higher....

needs Dynamic Energy Saver™ 2 installed.

Im about to give up on the 4.8Ghz.. I still get BSOD's from blend.. getting the 124 error code.. I've upped the VTT to 1.220 and still getting it.. Im at a total loss on what to do.. Vcore offset is already at +0.080 which gives me 1.44v reading with a DMM.

I use the offset 0.110 V, this gives us the DMM 1.48v load linx, 1.476V cpuz shows, that for me there is a large discrepancy vCore

prime requires less vCore, as well as other programs under Windows, 1.452v cpuz, DMM shows 1.46V

ET6 bad shows frequency, it is real and bclk x48 100.3mhz

What are your other voltage settings for PLL/VTT/PCH/VDIMM and ect ?

What are the temps you get with RealTemp 3.67, I've tired using core temp and it gives me inaccurate numbers.

wait..you were hitting 90c? 90c means bad mount causing instability in max load.

-remount
-use a different cooler
-use different paste

in real temp I have the same temperature, VTT Went to 1.08V and 1.6V vDIMM, I have an old memory of X58, they are Not really compatible with full speed, and often was getting bsod, setting to 1333 and resulted in complete CL7 stability in the near future change mobo the ud4 z68x and memory on some g.skill compatible

What sucks most about this mobo is no LLC levels at all. VDimm levels is bulls too. F3 and F4 final got 1.50 -> 1.56. Only F3 betas got smaller steps.

Z68X-UD4 and even UD3P will have LLC levels.

Bios functionality limited to sell the expensive and z68 line boards. I would like to :slapass: the marketing manager @ gigabyte for that.

I refuse to buy that new sh*t before P67A-UD4 gets a better Bios.:mad:

So what is the expected load temps on a D14 @ 1.45v loaded (DMM) under LinX with AVX and 28c of ambient temps? I expected this temp at 90+ to be normal with the voltage+linx+ambient, should I be getting 75-80c only in this range?

I dont have any other cooler aside from the stock cooling and the paste i used is the one that came with the D14.

I found my old TX3 which seems to spread a lot easier compared to the NH1 paste, I even spread it my self on the entire IHS.. Getting the same temps. like down to the last digit.
What does error code 124 mean really mean ?

Whats your ambient temp like, 21-22c?

test was conducted at an ambient temperature of about 24'C

in my case meant 0x124 vCore, and indeed helped to increase

Well at 63c tops on 1.46v loaded is pretty damned great! Considering we have a difference of about 4c only in ambient and im getting like 23c hotter =(

Right now I went back to stock speeds and idling at about 37-36-38-35.

Looking at the picture your lowest recorded temp is 23c that means your ambient is somewhat 13c since intel's delta about 10c above ambient.

Right now im back on stock speed and volts with LinX memory usage set to 3.2Ghz ( this is with AVX ) and im getting 57-61-64-59

I was looking at the small database on the 5Ghz OC and basically your aircooling even puts water to shame!

So your screenshot posted was stock speeds and not 4.8Ghz?

Still your lowest core temp is 23, unless i7's idle 1-2c above ambient then im dead wrong.

EDIT:

Heres something interesting I found, I have another 2600K here on the same board on another PC but with a stock cooling. Temepratures with the stock cooler are not like 5-10c apart from each other. I did a LinX with AVX on it and it hits 79-83-83-79, Ive tried this processor and the temps from it with a D14 has like a 10c range difference from each other. This would mean that the D14's machined textured finish on the base is messing up the contacts since my linX results at 4.5Ghz ( auto voltage ) is at 73-82-83-79.

Went back to 4.5Ghz since I've never been able to verify 4.5Ghz stability.. You guys think this will survive 24hrs Prime Blend?
