I think they will figure it out, so far i found the most stable BIOS for OC to be F7E and F6X for Cpu PLL Personally with a D1 stepping chip cpu pll overvoltage has no affect. seems like they have fiddled wtih LLC Level2 and LLC level1 a lot, but i think they need to tune down LLC level2.
Yes i can do 5.2 ghz with this BIOS, but then again CPu pLL Overvoltage i don't need.
Anyone able to install WinXP successfully? Which AHCI/IDE drivers do we need to integrate? I just downloaded the latest RST drivers from Intel. Intel RST Driver
No problem with windows XP - benched to my hearts content with XP.
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD install OS and boot as normal. Did nothing else special at all.
@1Day: I managed to install on IDE mode. Was trying to get it to install using AHCI. This will do for now. Thanks a mill!
Using F7 for the first time got into windows running stable 4.5Ghz on 1.296v. This is the lowest voltage I have been able to run @4.5. But I cannot seem to really do much with 48x or 50x without the pll overvoltage option (I could bench at 5Ghz on F6X). I can get into windows with 48 multi between 1.34 - 1.38vcore (in windows) using LLC Level2 but it keeps crashing with BSOD124 randomly.
Picked up a 2500k today, Seems a little better than my 2600k. Have to enable Internal PLL at 49x on this chip instead of 47x on my 2600. It also clocks 200mhz higher before I get the dreaded 4E post code and fails to boot. I guess when you reach the multiplier where you have to enable Internal PLL is the indicator of how high the chips max oc will be, 600mhz above that will the max?
Just start to test F7f BIOS with CPU PLL overvoltage option, dated 26.Jan(just before F7).
Supose to enhance memory performance.
Thank you stasio!
Have you tested CPU PLL voltage with the Internal CPU PLL setting enabled? Or has anyone tested it with a DMM?
i will do DMM testing if you like
That would be awesome! I was wondering what the CPU PLL actual voltage was when using Internal CPU PLL overvoltage set to enabled with voltage in the bios set to 1.80v.
When you use the DMM you use the ground/black wire from the molex connector for your ground/black probe? If so the problem is all my wires on the AX1200 are black. I guess I just see which wire from the fan with molex connector is black to find the ground?
maybe a scope shot too...
haha you guys are asking a lot i have to pull the board out of the case.
I will do it just let me goto dinner with my girlfriend first ok :) I will do it tonight though.
video too...:)
hahaha can I add to all of the request above? Can you please provide where to measure those voltages and I will mod my UD7. I will put something like a Vcheck that we have actually seen in other brands :D
@bassplayer: I never got it to work with WinXP. Win7 doesn't have any problem with it.Quote:
It seems a lot of people are having the AHCI issues. Any word on if they're working on it?
@bartman1973:The review sin022 made does show where the read points are.
Double post........
ooops sorry overlooked that one ...time to mod my board tonight :D
