You can mod 9800SE's to 9800np/Pro, but the word is they dont run as fast as np/Pro clock for clock.. I'm sure a bios flash could cure that possibly, though :D

ya know... im just waiting for 650/465 in 2k1... but that means a fresh install of win2k... so might be a bit... :(
It was downgraded to "SE" status with 4 pipes closed off and lower clocks because it was an inferior sample off the production line.Quote:

If not, it was only dubbed that to simply fill demand. That is when you get a good clocker for a very low price.
Soulburner - that was already stated, but what I was saying is that even after unlocking the 4 extra pipes it is still held back slightly, or at least that is the word that is going around..
I wouldnt mind one of them actually.. if it hardmoded 100% perfect.. this 9700np just cant do more than 430/345.... but I havent vmoded the ram yet either, so..
9800SE is a value edition of 9800 series. Its running with 4-pipelines in default form. There are cards with 128bit and 256bit mem.
Now the thing is that you can enable the missing 4-pipelines with driverhack and it will become just as fast as a R9800Pro :) Clock to clock equal.
The 9800SE AIW model costs around 200 or so and has VIVO features and TV-Tuner....and gets over 23k in 3dmark2001 aircooled with P4 2.6C. :D

Same as the 9500np stuff, yes, that was known...
any idea what the chances of it working are?
(4 pipelines to 8 without errors)
nice clocks.. but uh... that nature seems pretty low... or is that the 4-pipes talking?
but with 256 bit ram or that nature would be like 80 ;)
R9800SE AIW + cascade = #1 R9800PRO in the World :D
see ORB for details ;)
with lower mem volts and mem clocks (@360MHz) I was able to push it thru drago hi at 660MHz GPU :toast:
Now if only this card didn't have this silly 3.3ns ram... :D
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7377164
Now that's a fast 9800SE!!
Actually, I got faster results with my 2.4C/P4P800-DX in 3DMark2001 when I raised my Tras to the max (8 in my case).Quote:

No room for improvement there
resolder some better ram onto it, heh.
That's gawd damn Xtreme Macci! :slobber: more than Opp's XT! ;)
Well.. I wouldn't be suprised if you found a way to "exchange" the RAM or at least make 'em own like your KHX 3000! ;)
Instead of going through all the trouble changing the RAM...
Just swap the GPU's :D.
come on OPP, 5 more marks?
my margin of error between diffrent runs is over 200 marks, so an extra 5 should be easy.....
that was probably OPPs margin of error highly in his favor, he was quite a bit below earlier. nice 9800 score Macci, can your cpu do 4.56GHz which it did during your 9800xt run for near 31k?
I should do a Vcore mod on this IC7 for those clocks.
The RAM clocks (only ~380) on this card are greatly limiting the scores (see drago low and nature FPS - the most mem dependent tests..).
Its possible that the card RAM will go clearly higher with Samsung 'E-Die' bios but so far haven't found one that would work on a AIW card.
Nice SE score Macci :)
OPP
Thanks OPP :)
Great work in MArk03 with the XT. Getting awfully close there :D
Tried Mark2001 at those GPU clocks yet?
btw, seems that the IC7 is generally better platform for OCing video cards than P4C800. I'm getting higher GPU clocks now. It might also be the fact that I lapped the GPU evap, enhanced mounting and useing better insulation now too :D
how high have you gotten that 9800xt so far? I heard right now your aiw 9800se overclocks higher than the xt on the core, LOL
Yea XT can't quite match the SE GPU clocks :D
keep in mind that core clocks matter much more than ram clocks as well, hence why your 9800se is so close to that xt scores despite the fact your cpu was clocked lower when you did the 9800se run!
I'm gunna try the 648 clocks in 2001 today. Last time I couldn't get the CPU to OC worth a crap.Quote:

With any luck I'll get my CPU clocks back today and Make a little history:)
BTW: Hows the SE in 03 benching, top core speed??
OPP
has your cpu lost its ability to do the 3075MHz clock it used to be able to? I notice Macci's p4 lost 100MHz for his 9800se run
