it has the temperature sensor for SB and NB?
No, just one sensor for "mainboard-temp", I dunno where it's located exactly...

hi gugle, your vNB is pretty low (well i'm not quiet sure of it cause i never tried to max out a P45 chip yet :p).. if you get stability issues when blending that's where i'd look. FSBT looks ok (perhaps if you'd like to go higher on clocks you should bump it up as well) but PLL is still stock: so, if you get any unusual (random) stability issues having bumped up the vNB, i would check on those 2 last settings. another thing that might interfere in long term stability is your GTL... use the 0.67 setting (if avail).
for vNB i wouldent go higher than 1.45v, at least i think thats getting into the "danger zone" for 65nm P45. also mind you that 1.7 for PLL is the real maximum i would run for tests, while 1.6 for 24/7 seems safe. well now, about VTT, i might risk going up till 1.45, but since it is a 65nm quadcore you could even try 1.5v but the guys at anandtech managed to burn a 45nm quad at those FSBT voltages, so be aware of going that high on volts.

Will this new bios bring more performance and more overclockability? Or will it bring more headaches and an inevitable downgrade to 1406!?

the function of PCIe SATA Voltage, knows someone explain?
This board has been nothing but a headache for me. I'm on my second board and neither of them will post. I've tried 3 different CPUs (805, E5200, and Q8400), 3 different video cards (4850x2, 2900xt, 7300), 2 different power supplies (TruePower650, and BFG800w) I've tried both Buffalo Firestix PC2800 and some value RAM just to make sure my RAM wasn't bad or incompatible. I've reset CMOS several times, followed all advice on Asus's website.
Well I've build already 4 of the E's and dozens of the DLx and none had let me down and all are used being OC'ed (400-500FSB range depending on CPU and cooling)... you just got some bad luck there mate... maybe you got ya bad board back as RMA (I had a shop owner who did a sort of trade behind the scenes, he just gave back my damaged board. But I nailed him as I put a small marking on the sticker and immediately recognised my own board...)
You are correct there, it was partially the local shop. Asus has always been rock solid for me for both mobos and graphics cards. I came back to Asus after not really liking my Intel D975XBX2.
My Intel board fried on me while upgrading to the 4850x2 card. I wanted the local shop to test the Intel board before I went thru an RMA on it. It was a weekend and aparently the assistant tech guy didn't want to give it a full going over. He physically looks over the board and claims he doesn't even need to do a diagnostic. He wiggles a few capacitors (IIRC) and says "Yeah I can tell by how loose these are that they are no good." "The board is dead", etc. Now I'm no computer tech, but I do have a good eye for detail and those parts didn't have anymore wiggle in them than when I first started using it. I accepted that he simply didn't want to work on my board and that I needed to upgrade anyway.
I order the first P5Q. The first board I was trying to post with my old 805 cpu, which is NOT on the compatibility list. The sales guy (not the normal woman I deal with) says before an RMA I need to have the board and possibly my system diagnosed. So I give them my system for a couple days. I happen to be in the store checking their selection and prices on cpus and he announces that my system is ready. Tells me that something with the PCIx bus was bad and it was time to RMA it. At that time he also tells me that I need to check into a new power supply as they couldn't get my 4850x2 to power up. They needed to attach a second power supply to compensate for my Truepower650. I let him know that at home I had no problem getting power to the 4850. BUT I figured it was a good time to upgrade my psu anyway. They have a Truepower1000 on the shelf and are willing to price match Newegg..so I bring it home. The next day I have the supposedly bad board boxed up and doing the RMA.
Many days later I get no word from them..first one arrived in one business day. So I stop in to check, by the saleswoman's face I can tell it never got ordered. They can't find it in the system. It arrives a couple days later, I returned the Truepower1000 after getting some advice and doing some research. So long as my Truepower650 isn't dying it should be plenty strong enough. Oh... and I bring home the Q8400 the same day. In addition while doing this, the saleswoman has to ask me if I picked up my system. That coworkers remember it being in the tech area, but no one knows what happened to it. She wants to know who I dealt with, cause that person is in all kinds of trouble.
I try getting the new board to post with the Q8400, my new BFG800 psu and it's same as last one....no post I believe it was on Asus forum that I read someone having the same problem with the same cpu. His fix was to use an E5400, he had an older board with older BIOS. Once his board posted he updated to the newest BIOS, swapped to the Q8400 and was good to go.
I buy an E5400 with intentions of eating the 15% restocking fee simply to get my board to post and my system back up. No difference!!!
Now I'm ready to be done with the P5Q boards all together.....as well as my local shop. Return my second board and ask them to get me a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P. As part of their return policy they inspect my board and find a manufacturers flaw on it. Exposed copper on the backside of the mobo. At this point the head tech guy reads me the riot act...apparently thinking that I'm killing the boards.
So that's my long, soap opera drama. I still would go with an Asus board anytime. But I want to make a clean break from this local shop. It's too bad cause the shop used to have the best people working there. Full of advice and knowledge.
I think the problem has bios of my P5Q-E, and does not post more, if someone would know how to recover?
