Just a heads up because I have been getting a lot of emails about this...the F1 extreme will officially support socket 1156 starting next week. It will ship with 1156 mounting integrated into the current mounting :up:

Probably because someone might have copied it :D

There was no 1156 a year ago, so difficult to drill the mounting a year beforehand not knowing the footprint (unless Vince has premonitions while gazing into his copper balls).

Anyone else really hacked off that Intel are changing the mounting hole spacing again for no reason?

I genuinely do want to see the series of decisions that leads to changes like this. Intel dont benefit from this. They have to tweak their stock HSF and that costs them money. There is NO benefit

Man get that garbage out of my thread. Thats about to get clown nuked by the sucka patrol. Thats not an F1 holdown, that a piece of dense foam with 5 holes in it lol.

Avoid knockoffs kids.. and ALWAYS buy genuine F1 replacement parts!
Here is the real next gen F1 holdown which now supports all previous sockets as well as 1156 now :up: and ships with every new F1 starting next week.
