The processors are said to be available for purchase as of today. This does NOT mean Newegg, although the possibility of a drop in compatibility of these new processors might see a sharp increase in processor-alone purchases (rather than entirely new servers), but that is just a guess on my part.

Clock 4 Clock, the K10 seems on par with Intels offerings. If they can get 2.6ghz+ out Phenom before Christmas, then I've probably found myself a new CPU.

Not when I've got a Quadcore at 3.2GHz for a lousy $299

ROFL quadcore has no use now, and the only game it has some value is supcom, but only if you go uber high res.

Look at my specs clown, 26 inch monitor with Crysis being released in November and showing huge quady scaling.. no brainer

And just in case you missed how badly AMD has been owned, here's a tidbit from Anandtech

"The Barcelona desktop line, the Phenom, should therefore fare better than K8 when competing with the Core 2. Nevertheless, an average increase of 14% will not be sufficient to surpass a Core 2 at equivalent frequencies, especially with the upcoming arrival of the Penryn which will have a surplus of performance compared to Core architecture."

lol, guys, i'm sorry of course, but maybe you'll stop arguing and wait for the benches? as for me, there are no real reasons to discuss how K10 performs, not even saying about deciding wheter are they an adequate purchase or not. How can you judge K10's performance while there - simply - are NO - TRUSTFUL - BENCHES - AVAILIABLE at the moment?

I saw those. And i'd say that we all need more than only 2 reviews to get convinced that K10 is nothing good... or that it's definetly good.

The review looks good, exactly and ONLY EXCEPT FOR this sentence.

It has around 14% for "K10 applications" on an opteron machine. What means, that you are locked to 666MHz ECC on memory.

The probable common memory for Phenom will be 800MHz non-ECC.

If someone here can risk on saying that it's NOT expected to improve even more, please tell me and show the proof. Otherwise, this is an astonishing machine for server and hpc market, as is seen in the other review AT Anandtech, and showing promisse (of more than 14-15% of improve in average) when it's about the future desktop version of it.

And with clocks already improving.

I want two! :D But I do prefer two Montreals. ;)

....was it?......I mean do someone has solid proof of it OR we just say or think or whatever, that it was done with a Phenom and it was 30k in 2k6.......
