Sorry I've no Vista so I only give you this link. And one main issue is that smp cannot be installed under Program files (although installer wants to go there on default, how ironic)
But one thing seems to be 'wrong' in the screenshot. At the Account-line you do not have to input anything, just hit enter for that one.
Hey, my notebook is a Toshiba Core2Duo with Vista as well. Make sure you run the install.bat by right clicking it and selecting run as administrator.
wait, that's not it, I'm remembering somthing about having to run cmd.exe as admin and then going throught he console to your FAH directory and running the install.bat from there. 1 sec let me look around, I'll find the post that told me how to do it.
EDIT: here are the directions I used...

EDIT_2: Hmmm, it seems these are pretty much the same instructions that sc00p linked. Let us know if you still have problems.
I did everything, and got the MPI working but when I go to set it up I get this.

Never mind I got it.
Man vista sucks. I'm going to give it an honest shot, but so far it has some speed bumps.
I actually am liking vista from my short usage of it so far (about 2 weeks). What don't you like about it? I found a couple nuisances but they were correctable and the system runs fine. Well, did, until I sold the CPU and RAM so I'm running a single core and only 1GB so its a tad slow now lol.
You can't back out of things all the way.
Thats one.
Not sure I know what you mean by "can't back out of things all the way"
Another huh here lol..
And another vote for vista as the most non problematic win os with the smp client ( for me for the very least )!
Well my quad is down and I'm not in town to get it back up!
I bet my roommate shut off my computer.
Nice remainders to set up vnc for the next time something like this happens :)
Must suck if you can't trust your room mate with anything
I just don't trust him with my computer.
His computer had 17 viruses on it.
I have my sights on ung when I get back!
About going back. When I click on pictures or music or something to that order. I want to be able to back up all the way to the hard drive, no matter where I went in at.
Ok....i packed my bags and under the cover of night made my way to the bus stop and came over to XS :p: I just couldn't stay there any longer when my heart was over here.......ok this is turning into a soap opera  The family X2 will remain with my old team, but my main rig and when my PS3 folds will be joining team 36362. That martian guy was right, it doesn't really matter only if you want a bigger e-peen.
:welcome: to this neck of the woods then :D
you can make your stats sig image visible now :p:
Welcome aboard! :D
I snuck over here for a little while also... :sofa:
Hey RR, been keeping busy with WCG lately? Talk about a huge spike today, 24K  Great startoff! What kind of army you running?
Here's a thought.. run both projects, just an idea :)
No I haven't in about a week, I went back over to my old folding team for a little bit, then came back over here. I need to swap a couple quads back to WCG, I may do that tomorrow. I am running 1-QX9650, 5-Q6600s, 1-E6850, 2-E6600s, 1-E6400, 1-E6300, 1-1950xt, and a 3800x2...
that's quite the army you've got!
Some of the new units use SSE2 extensively which is really choking the production of my PIII-s rigs... how can I get regular SSE workunits instead?
