Does anyone have experience on this mobo with 4 sticks of ram? I'm thinking of buying one and have 4gb of G.Skill HZ :D

Anything above 400x8 is where I have issues booting. Ran Sp2004 for 8hrs both small and large FFT's at 413x8 and 421x8 passed without errors. But still get that random cold boot bug at those settings. Stock settings is not a issue just when pushing the limits.

im not sure if its been posted, but this msi board, can it use up multipliers as well as down ones on the x6800, eg, 12,13,14 onwards?

bah thats a shame.

i was going to use this over a bad axe for now, seen too many bios lock problems in the other thread.

do you know if there is any real difference between the 2.A 2.B & 2.1
msi doesnt distinguish between them, just lists it as one on the site.

I am using 4 sticks, but I am using a PD 950.

I ran prime for an hour no probs and past 3Dmark06 at them speeds on the MSI

but it lack sata ports for me thats why i gone with the asus so far i hit 475x8 but temps are holding me back from going any further.

so i've settled for these settings which are prime stable and what i.m running 24/7 on the P5B

I have a question regarding flashing the bios from 714 -> 715. I forgot to save optimized defaults before I flashed to 715. Could that be why my new settings are not sticking after I save?

I have the MSI 975X Platinum Powerup edition 2.1 mobo, I am having problems with the duall core center software, the dam alarm keeps going off regarding the CPU fan, which I am not running one "cpu is liquid cooled", I have disabled Smart fan in Bios, and I am still geting those anoying alrm sirens once the program is up and running after computer boots into windows, my CPU IS liquid cooled by a Freezone CooIT systems, in Bios and in core center it shows it at 27c, but those dam fan warning sirens are driving me nuts, and after I clsoe it down afte r a few of those siren samples the program just freezes "does not respond" till I get rid of it and restart it, with the same results, how do you disable it in corecenter "the dam fan alarm", thanks again.

So was the 8x450 on the 975X or the P5B? Did you use an additional cooling on the northbridge, mosfets etc.?

Also does the board support fan speed control in the BIOS like the DFI boards do? (e.g. If CPU temp goes to a certain point it automatically speeds the fan up).

I just had to leave it off for 5-10 minutes. I am now on 715 and the settings stick, but everytime I power down and do a cold boot it refuses to start back up. This problem boggles my mind. The settings 400FSB run fine on SP2004 and SuperPi 32MB but as soon as I turn off the PC my settings won't boot the next time? This is 110% bios issue that needs to be fixed ASAP.

I am giving up OCing until a new and VERY MUCH improved bios is released. Please MSI engineers help us!!!

The biggest problem I'm having with this board (715 Bios) is I can get the system to boot after going into the BIOS, but I can't restart. It feels like this board would boot at 400fsb with default voltage, but it won't restart at 360fsb with any voltage. Anyone else feel this way?

kman540 I have the same RAM as you! Does it run ok on that board? Any boot issues, divider issues etc?

In fact most of my rig will be the same as yours :D except I have 2 raptors :p:

I'm still testing now, I haven't tried dividers yet. The biggest issue is what I stated in my last post. It has a lot of issues on a restart, but if you power down, it will start up ok. The ram runs ok, but ok isn't good enough for xtreme. I'd like to test with some TX or HZ.

TBH I just wanna get an E6400 to 8 x 400 (or similar clock for E6600). As long as they can keep up (they should for stock speeds!) then I am happy! Maybe I'll try and get them to run 4-4-4-10 or something a bit tighter...

Hi Suman
This is on the Asus which is now running nicely at 450x8 with no extra cooling just mounted in my coolermaster stacker 830 which does have 3x120mm fans mounted on the side panel.

When i was testing and got the 475x8 i put the fan on the memory and NB for caution!!!!!!!

There is some fan fuction on the asus called Qfan.

Sorry dude, was wondering about the MSI board for fan control and stuff! What's the max stable FSB you got out of the MSI board? Sorry I know you posted loadsa stuff already, but I can't tell which is from the MSI and which is from the Asus P5B :(

Dude, Cpu-z is ok but not 100% - bios setting 1.47v

NB - 1.65v
DDR2 - 2.35
as set in bios v715
