Update list on first page? :D
Great to read the review. Thanks for posting.
I'm down to a couple board choices. The review said the ASUS P5W DH DELUXE was their choice though they didn't have the P5WD2-E Premium to test. I don't need most of the Deluxe's features but I like the driverless RAID. Any idea how these two boards will compare besides the obvious feature differences like the remote and wi-fi?
So many were expected in June :/
ABIT has both ab9 available... here some problems though
Is there any plans to refresh the p5wd2-e premium?
ATI is a real joker this time nobody really knows anything, but many suspects a lot.....too bad they have been this slow. getting some tested through and compared could have told us which board to chose...now i think i will wait until august/september until i know if they are good or bad...and available.
It's not Conroe that we're waiting for anymore (Comes out Monday) but a good overclocking board that will consistently do 450FSB. There are so few boards out now and they all are very expensive and cannot reach high FSBs. I don't want to pluck down $275 on the P5W when 2 weeks later a superior overclocking board will be out for $75 cheaper. Looks like we'll have Conroes before good motherboards.:(
I'm really getting tired of the SLI/CF crap, they should both agree on a dual GPU slot standard, so that all motherboards/chipsets can accomodate both... bunch of freaks IMO. they just polute and make the entire build process more complicated than it should be.
DS3 + e6400 @ 3.8ghz? :stick: :stick: :stick: :stick:

" overclocking was outstanding, but we suspect that higher voltage adjustments on the MCH would allow even higher overclocks. The ASUS stops at 1.65V, while the Intel BadAxe goes on to 1.725V. We would welcome ASUS raising the top voltage on the MCH. There are reports that modding the ASUS to reach 1.9V MCH allows FSB overclocks to almost 500 instead of the current limit of around 440 to 450 FSB "
"But the North Bridge chip may get really hot, and even reach dangerous levels if the cooling solution is not efficient enough"
The ASUS P5W DH Deluxe max V on the northbridge is 1.65 Volt. we need more. I think every board, even the cheap msi bastards can do 450 with enough juice in the hood :)

No guys, sorry that my list isn't updated at all the last few days but I really don't have any time to do it. And I'm leaving tomorrow to italy ^^ I'll be back on the 1st of August. Then I'll update my list ASAP!
Alright hurry up and update it when you're back! I'm counting on ya mate!
-Jo.
p.s. hjave fun in italy, beautiful country =]
anyone planing to get that cheaper AsRock motherboards to see how far it can go with a E6300 ?
-i got a 20pin power supply, a Geforce 6800 AGP card and 2x512mb DDR memory..
To overclock these Conroe and Allendale, I can use a low memory and set a divisor on it?
the few tests on it says it wont do much at all....its a very fair ordinary board...but no abilities to oc
interesting news : maybe old, maybe new : http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...timings/1.html
Agreed, CF and SLI should work on all 3 vendors top end boards and be done with it.
How come nobody has been trying any of the other 975X boards that have been updated to support Core 2?
Example:

hmmm. a bit awkward, though the foxconn looks to be a good board.
a new motherboard with a PWM refresh is required for the conroe cpu, this board will not work with conroe :rolleyes:Quote:

another newegg screw-up perhaps...
Yep, that's what I thought.Quote:

So, what do you guys think now that AMD as officially bought ATi? Will there actually be an Intel based RD600 chipset from ATi? Damnation. This is starting to look really ugly now. :(
It 's in french but to say that RD600 is dead .. :(
