Damn c5:shocked: awesome job.
Hey Cryptik, 1.45VTT and 1.68-1.69vdimm, I dont normally mess with memory to much but this board seems to do very well.

How ya getting on, Radaja?
latest version of AIDA64 recognizes the board now but the voltages are still way off
My Classy just suffered the dreaded "FF" bug...!
RMA time... :(
kup - Remove and reseat your BIOS chip?
Yeah, didn't fix it. :( I was suffering from a no gpu load kind of glitch so I rebooted. One of my 460 powered the fan fan slow (normal) and one at full speed. I've got to try one more time and then it's off to EVGA if they'll take it. :(
@kup: That sucks about your board.
Is this common problem with Classified boards?
From what I can see it's not a common problem but it is a problem... :(
Classified3 ordered. :D
Congrats, but still sucks you have to repace your board.
Yeah. :( Stupid bug. I'd attribute it to some sort of chipset failure as it doesn't register a lack of ram, gfx or even CPU. lol It happened directly after both of my gfx failed to submit to any load (F@H) for no reason. I assumed a reboot would fix it. Wish I'd just left it running now. :/
Took the 930 out and stuck this 920 in that has been in my UD7 for a long time. Will see if I can lower vcore later but this was the first boot with this chip in this board.

Good enough for me, will try and lower vcore.

That is a niiiice random test. :D
How are you liking the 3?
Thanks.
Man I hate to speak to early but I love this board, it seems to be pretty awesome. Just hope its as durable as my UD7.
HT disabled, single 460 this run.

Nice job radaja, your voltages look great.
hey, radaja, pay attenction at that high PWM frequency.
the mosfet and chockes that hold the VTT voltage become really hot even with the CPU at LN2 or SS.
i wouldn't imagine with water/air cooling.
plus i'm not sure that you need it that high.
http://www.pctunerup.com/up/results/...3_DSCN0886.JPG
thats my problem with the vtt pwm and cpu pwm at anything but what i have set, everytime i boot at 215 my bios screen appears
with just a thin blue line then the full bios screen shows up and same with my windows version choice screen(XP or vista) it appears
real slow starting from the top and wipes downward depositing the screen, then when in windows(if im lucky) everything is stuttering
and choppy.with it set like i have it its normal and instant(bios screen and windows selection screen just appears like normal)
i have AC blowing directly into a box where my MB is with fans blowing over the cpu socket area.i think my temps are decent
after 1hr 20m vrms and Nb never went above 30c.but i will keep an eye out on the heat and try to see if i can figure something
out where i dont need to have vtt and cpu pwm frequency set so high
my cooling solution
http://i54.tinypic.com/16rshw.jpg
closed with AC going in,and AC into RAD
http://i51.tinypic.com/2n03b68.jpg
i get stuck at this screen too which just hangs until i reset
http://i51.tinypic.com/1e8g83.jpg
loving ghetto stuff like that
i thought that you use a case like many of the guys here, that's because i told you about VTT mosfet/chokes temp.
with this solution probably their temp is in the safe range.
p.s. maybe would be better switch to a SS/water chiller, the power consumption should be about the same but the temp would be much better :D
edit: i see in your signature that you have a 3x2 gb kit of STT 2000 cas8 just like me.
can you run them at rated speed super-pi 32M stable?
i've alot of problem when using DRAM multiplier different to 2:8, at frequency higher than 1700 MHZ i get ONLY freeze or reboot when doing 32M.
with many other kit i haven't problem to run about 2400 MHZ 32M stable, but with elpida hyper RAM i've always problem.
kingston hyperx 2000 cas8 MGH-E works a bit better but over 2020/2030 MHZ they go just like STT over 1700 MHZ.
to be honest this is a bit frustrating...i need to test them with another board, maybe a gigabyte ud7 rev 2.0
yea i have a corsair 800D and an antec 900
but i like my homemade bench table(MB box)
and cover(cardboard box).so easy to switch
out gear:rofl:
also i dont have to worry about my box getting
scratched up.:ROTF:
radaja......you are a GHETTO gangsta!!! :up::up:
So can someone confirm this for me... does the Noctua NH-D14 NOT fit on the Classified 3's? (without modifications)
I use one of those orange TT fans on my nb, very loud but an awesome spot cooler.
If you got the board used was it tested for max bclk? From what it sounds like it does the same thing my rex3 does, at 215bclk or higher it is very flaky. Also sounded like you were in slowmode but you have qpi freq set to fast. Try running some 3D, like 06 and see how it does. I lost performance at 215bclk on the r3e.
i thought i almost had it figured out.i was able to run normally with the vtt/cpu pwm at stock
byt running x17 uncore.at x16 is when the issues showed themselves.but im still experiencing
strange issues with consistency.after failed OC i clear cmos and get a screen saying this
and it just hangs until i turn it off and clear cmos again.hitting delete does nothing with this screen?
also i get sometimes the normal first boot screen but where it says memory testing the numbers go carzy (i guess its testing memory)but it never stops
until i reboot?
http://i53.tinypic.com/1h2pl2.jpg
I get that screen also after a bad failed oc, or similar. Mine says no keyboard detected.....press F1 to continue lol, Del to enter setup. I hit reset button a couple times and that doesnt fix it I clear cmos. It doesnt recover as well as the Gigabyte, but I really like this board a lot.
i see a lot of people setting the CPU PLL VCore and IOH PLL VCore @ 1.5 , i keep it @ auto which is 1.8 IIRC is that ok or should i lower it to 1.5 ?
my setup : E760 Classified - 980x - 6gb Dominator GT 1866c7
1.8V is default so yes, it's ok. Sometimes lower value gives you small gain but nothing special. It's more important to lower it when you go with subzero (read LN2), but if it works the same on air with 1,8 and 1,6.. why not? :)
i found my problem and it seems to be the opposite to mafio's MB
i can now run with vtt and cpu PWM at stock with both my i7-920's
but i need these to be set to less for anything above 200bclk
CPU impedance - less
QPI signal comp -less
im 100% stable at 21x 215@4505 and absolutely no weird issues i was experiencing.
but if i reboot and set these to auto it starts up.
Nice work radaja, glad you figured it out.
Got it to boot at 4920mhz 4cores 4threads, better than my ud7 did.

nice OC OC Nub:up:
do you run with vdroop or without?
without is LLC enabled correct?
at lower voltages with out is similar to level 1 LLC
on my gigabyte MB but once i go above 1.43v the drop
in load vcore is huge.but i dont like how with is like level 2
slightly higher than whats in bios during idle and load?
Thanks radaja.
I have been running it with vdroop, I dont like the way it over volts either when using without. Would be nice to have 50% or LLC1, maybe EVGA can call "kinda without" lol.
We have Classified3! My Classified(1 or 2? :P ) is going back to EVGA for RMA. :D
So, that CPU and QPI Signal set to less really helps on the BCLK wall?
could help, but it's not sure...maybe your mobo like less, maybe not.
mine with both auto boot at 245 BCLK, with less no boot over 180 BLCK.
but maybe that's another problem of my second crappified....
kup, could you fill in the template for 225 bclk for me so i can compare
other templates and see if i can figure out how to go above 217bclk.thanks

just to be sure,you only need 101 pci-e?and IOH/ICH I/O (1.6) is 1.60v? or 1.16?
going to give it a go and see if i can figure this out:D
http://i54.tinypic.com/35244es.jpg
Like that. :) And yeah, only 101MHz PCIE so far. :)
I will have to try it again, I am bad about saving settings so Im not sure what everything was set to. I know I had CPU Impedance and QPI signal set to less and went up a notch on both VTT pwm and CPU pwm Freq. Vcore and VTT were pretty high but the exact value Im not sure.
I have a 3x1gb kit of HyperX 2000c8 elpida hypers, cannot get this board to see 3 sticks no matter what I do. Have done long cmos clear by removing battery, windows sees only 1.99gb. Anyone else have HyperX running on this board?
The mem runs great on the UD7 and also ran ok on the Rex3.
on some high clocks it happens needs more vtt:(
but thats weird with 3x1 should be alot easier
my 3x1 hyperx 2k cas8 did 2k cas7 easy
its when i put in 6x1 i had problems doin cas7 but cas8 was np
on another note i got me 12gb of redline with bbse:D doin 1683mhz 6-7-6-18
Will try switching slots. Even at stock it reads only 1.99gb usable, I have tried several times but same thing everty time. I had hoped these would clock really nice on this board, they did better than my Dominators on the UD7.
Which kit is that zsams? Nice clocks.
Nice job.
This board seems to clock better than your E760?
Before when I would try a different board after about a week, sometimes less I couldnt wait to get back on the UD7, always felt good to be back on a Gigabyte board. Cant say I have missed the UD7 this time. This board feels very stable and clocks like a beast. I still love the UD7, it has been a great board and still works as well as the day I got it, but its nice to change every once in a while and learn something new.\
Also latest AIDA64 v1.20.1150 reads voltages somewhat correct now on the E770, and shows NB and VRM temps.
Thanks, I didnt use a tooth brush but I did clean the pins on the memory with alcohol and it sees all 3 sticks now. This time it didnt drop a channel.
my set of hyperx did best with the rexIII
its the 1600 redline with bbse rated 6-7-6-18:D
its best for my daily rig as i wont have to actively cool them compared to my hypers
i know the rexII prefers bbse cause of qpi droop n ram droop especially for 12gb and they dont need as much juice as hypers
nice tip Bullet92
edit: finally got 215x21 + 12gb of memory @ 1716mhz @6-7-6-18 to run stable on the rexII :p
Nice job zsams.
Keep trying to go higher but Im out of my comfort zone now and dont know the right settings, this is with fast mode disabled.
hi there, yesterday i did a quick LN2 session (3 hours or so).
i don't have a great CPU but this session end up with a bunch of pretty good runs.

booted at -107° C then when i was in windows i used -115° C +/- 3.
at lower than -120° C IMCH coldbugged, next time i need to try with memory in dual channel and lower CPU temp...maybe this way i can squeeze some more MHZ out of the CPU.
unfortunately after about 3 hours the mobo went crazy, so i had to stop benching.Code:MAIN

Thanks for the template. Im on water, maybe I am at the limit idk.
lol yes, had no choice. set 240bclk in bios with no slowmode and it laughed at me on boot.
^ lol, maybe Ill try the rex3 again with slowmode. I never really gave slowmode a chance, was so pissed about bclk limit for fast mode.
Installed the P55FTW today in my other case, but got bored fast. Did manage this by mistake. Not sure if I forgot to change bclk after backing down my oc or what, but this booted. http://valid.canardpc.com/cache/banner/1481261.png
managed to get this also. NO SLOWMODE zsams lol
OC_Nub, what VTT and vDimm are you running for those Corsair @ 235 bclk?
I took the corsair out, was afraid of killing them, was using up to 1.7vDimm and 1.60vtt. Started using a 3x1gb kit of hyperx, so far 1.74vDimm and 1.6vtt. I need to stop before something dies but its kind of fun.
Haha, yeah it is. :D Cheers dude. I'll try for some more bclk.
Just got my board last week. Having some crazy issues with my ram on this board. Kingston Hyper-X 2,000mhz 8-8-8-24 t1 3 x 2gb kit. I can get it to run all the way up to 4.2 @ 2,094mhz with 209 bclk. Anything after that it refuses to boot into windows. I'm sure someone has a easy fix for it. And i have tried 103 -110 pci-bus speed also with no results. Here is what i am running right now.

As i can't find a good stop for the ram. as it is either 1866mhz or 2,133+ on up. My R2E was a little easier on the ram setting up. So i'm sure it is something simple that needs to be changed. As i would like to show my old R2e up as it hit 4.6ghz with ease. Now i'm changing stuff right and left in the 760 bios. Thanks
You shouldnt need 1.50v for QPI PLL, thats way to high, try 1.75-1.20v, try setting IOH Core manual to 1.175-1.20v or in that range, and try setting IOH/ICH I/O Voltage to default 1.500v. Also try Memory Control Settings Standard , can do better without XMP Profile, and Memory Control Frequency to 2:10 if you want 2000mhz+. Its hard to get stable above 2000mhz, will need some VTT and maybe more Vdimm. Im not on the E760, maybe someone with that board will have better suggestions. Also try a DMM to test DRam voltage using the easy read points on the board, my board over volts memory a little.
OC_NUB can I see your template for 4.5ghz ?

I run it 215x21/4.5ghz with these settings 24/7. The chip was in my last motherboard running 4.5 for probably 6 months or so.
Same template as above, 230MHz BCLK 3D stable so far (Black Ops for HOOOOOURS! :D).
well i finally got above 217bclk:D
thanks zsamz, mafio,OC nub and kup for all your guy's help

Nice radaja.
Will you switch back to Giga now or keep testing the E760?
good work radaja :yepp:
thanks,i will test this one for a while and then make a decision.i know i couldnt do 226 bclk stable on the the UD5 but could on my last UD3R,i could boot and run the quick superpi 1m at 230 with the UD5.but it looks like with this E760 230 stable might be possible for sure:D
thanks:D
I didn't read all good job you guys are doing for raising the BCLK-wall. Could somebody give a quieck summery on important adjestments.?
I'm trying to pick some idea to use on SR-2. Diffeent BIOS and chipset may make a big different though, but it's worth to get some ideas and trying.
guys cpu n qpi signal less = usin less volts:D
some boards might be ok for auto:p:
i was gonna post my 231blk x21 template but i need to tweek it
as soon as i get my psu back ....
ti'll then:p:
I think cpu & qpi signal less or auto is different for everyone.
Do you guys know, if a Q3QR runs on a Classified withou a mod?
i finally got 230bclk stable,thanks to zsamz:D
now i just need to up the multi and lower some timings
and i will be in heaven:)

Well done dude! :D
EDIT: Was PCIE @ 113 essential for you?
thanks, couldnt have done it with out your help
thanks for your help in understanding the board
well i havent tried lower yet,but now that i have a solid 230
i will test individual voltages and setting to see whats needed
and whats excessive.will post my findings and leave an updated template:D
finally a decent memory score,at least for me:D
still working on lowering stuff(volts)but soon i will have
this MB nailed down and make it do what i want:rofl:
