Hi Ket - 9.6.0.1014 (the last version you used) seems to be OK. I tried looking at other versions and saw mixed evidence of troubles with 10.x versions of the option ROM, including something to do with the filesize being too large. I can try to keep looking around.
Thats why I used 9.6, proved stable and reliable. Newer versions, as you have seen for yourself, are problematic.

If I can be arsed (and its sort of a big if) I'll remake the mbioses, I doubt anybody has them on their drive. I guess if I did make one very final batch I could dub them "5th anniversary special" or something. :/

10.1.0.1008 I think is the last version that people managed to get work on their boards, but it's unclear that it works as well as 9.6 for most people. I did see one fellow report that 10.6.0.1091 worked, but I'm not sure if that was with the standard BIOS or with the UEFI.

This BIOS would need to have its Intel, Marvell and JMicron controllers tested before I would roll out these changes for every board I intend to give one final sprinkle of love to, which is where you would come in RBS as I don't have any P5Q boards anymore.
Itīs ok, mount 1 bios with all latest changes or whatever you see and I will go testing as soon as possible, but dunno how many time will get for testings purposes, if anyone more could help would be great too.

GEIL PC8500 @ 1069MHz, strap 333MHz
Raid 0 - 3xSamsung SpinPoint F3 (HD502HJ)
current bios 2102 mod
I was interested with this beta bios because of the Intel raid driver update. I have just installed v 11.5 on Windows 7 and it works fine with the actual v9.6.0.14 in the bios rom.
With the beta bios, the computer freezes at the end of the POST, just after the raid configuration screen unable to boot on the raid (even after a clear cmos and bios setup)
Unable to use Alt+F2 for bios flashing utility and Suppr to enter bios setup, it freezes just before, each time.
A last clear cmos gave me the default setup and I was able to boot on an alternative IDE hard disk where I found a correct bios to flash back.
So those are my 2 cents, I think the intel driver is NOT OK with my configuration, I know you've not tested it.

Yes, an updated 2301 with memory tables that'll support all DIMM slots populated would be lovely - i get a BCCODE 124 Error on a daily basis -_-
A newer Intel O-ROM wouldn't go amiss too.... ;)

Hey I told ketabout my problems of testing on p5q deluxe atm, the psu for that rig burned and I wonīt buy new 1 at least till I came back from holidays but the little I could test that rig was working perfect even with last intel orom, right that I couldnīt test raid configs, but reading you maybe would be good to stick this mobo with version 9 orom, or each one can really go trying some versions and choose the right one for his config, itīs very easy replace 1 rom vs other with mmtool.
With P8Z77 Iīm using orom 8086-2822-11201527 and working perfect, with p5q I have 8086-2822-11501414 and at least Crucial M4 and WD black and green working great on single configs.

ello, greetings from Spain, this is my first post, but I have a lot of time reading and working with the bios "Ket" in my Asus P5Qpro (thanks for your work). Recently acquired two SSD of 128 GB each to put them in Raid0 with intel controller board. Researching the net I found a lot to the famous "o-roms" intel, and the problem with their latest versions with raid0 (in normal mode work well), but if you try to put two SSD in Raid0 with any version "or -rom "intel to 10.1 over the computer at startup will crash and we will remove mode" raid "of the plate to take over control of the system as it becomes very unstable and only work in AHCI mode or IDE .
Sad to see that you have a computer powerful enough to keep squeezing the most and that neglect is not possible to update the controller BIOS to the latest version (thanks Ket by minitutorial I read in another post on how to use the mmtools) .
I've tried all the bios or official intel-roms that are in "win-lite forum" and station-drivers ... any and all functions are blocked in the boot, except to version 10.1 as indicated above Ket.
My question is ... if there is any way to edit or intel-ROM, or if there are any changes to these to make them compatible with Raid0 mode.
I've done a thousand tests and it is clear that with the latest version of the BIOS modified Ket the latest versions of "0-rom" intel and go great with TRIM support without blocking, but in normal mode, not raid.
There must be something to tell us why crashes, the P45 chipset is problematic but not old enough to ignore the thousands of users that remain with this chipset, so I have not lost hope that somewhere Intel then update their O-roms compatible with all chipsets.

I suspect that the problem is not the P45 chipset, its the size ~120KB of the new O-ROMS (in uncompressed data) that no the fit the rezerved 90K ROM resulting in the board reading at the wrong address from the ROM module.
So the only chance to make it work for P5 motherboards is to somehow shrink the size of the o-rom (?! abbreviation the txt strings inside) to 90K.
True, the P45 is not the problem apparently actually read that a P45 gigabyte or msi, which had been operating the Raid0 with the latest intel O-ROM on these motherboards.Quote:

Hello! I'm using ket's m-bios for P5Q- Deluxe for a couple of years now with no problems. And i want to thank him fro that! Now, i want to buy a SDD and after a lot of research i can't decide which o-rom sould i use. I'm not interest in raid 0. From what i have read they say that it's better to use o-rom 11.2.xxx and RST 11.2.xxx for older motherboards than the 11.5.xxx o-rom and RST. Does any one here tried o-rom 11.2.xxx in P5Q Deluxe? Does it work in AHCI mode? Does even Ket's latest beta m-bios work in P5Q-Deluxe in AHCI mode?
It dosenīt work in raid mode with o-roms 11.2.xxx but if you donīt wonna raid mode... it works fine in single sata ahci mode with all o-roms... last o-roms = trim support.Quote:

I'll be finishing these mBIOSes later today, consider them a early christmas present and the final mBIOS files I will make - the P45 is 5 years old now, its got all the improvements it can handle with these mBIOSes. The reason intel O-ROMS newer than 10.1 don't work correctly is partly down to the size of the O-ROM, but also the BIOS itself with the P45 boards. In some cases there just isn't enough space on the ROM chip for the larger O-ROM, in other cases the problem lay in how the O-ROM is read. The "ideal" O-ROM to use on the P45 is 10.1, no newer. Its highly unlikely intel will change their O-ROM to work with boards such as the P45 simply because its how intel operate - they like forcing users into going and buying new hardware. AFAIK even the Z68 chipset doesn't get trim support willingly. Modders have to inject new O-ROMs themselves if manufacturers don't do it and last I heard intel were unwilling to add trim support to the Z68, only the Z77 onward.
Well, that was faster than I expected, but FINAL versions of the 5th anniversary special mBIOSes are now available from the first post. Beta versions are still available for anyone that wants the newer intel O-ROM (11.2). The only change to these final versions is the O-ROM has been downgraded from 11.2 to 10.1 for maximum compatibility and hopefully, zero problems.
Has anyone tested the beta BIOSes on the P5Q Pro Turbo yet?
I am using mine as a RAID5 NAS and I guess I will have issues with > 2.2TB drives unless the updated intel Option ROM works.

I have a question that I really hope you can help me out with. My motherboard is P5Q Pro and I'm currently running the latest official bios version 2102.
I got a 3TB hard drive today, the bios recognizes the disk as 801GB capacity while windows sees the whole 2.72 TB. I'm wondering if it's a problem that the bios isn't seeing the disks full capacity? ( Eventhough in windows everything is cool )
Would updating to any of your modded bios'es fix the problem?

You should set memory timings manually to 5-5-5-15, but in your case as you have 4 sticks you should try 6-6-6-16, 5-6-6-16 timings along those lines. By occupying all 4 DIMM banks you are putting extra stress on the chipset which will necessitate slightly more relaxed timings. Just how the old chipsets are.

I did tried to put 2 X 2 only on the yellow socket, not as much bluescreen @1066 but some errors on MemTest.
Do you reckon i'd be better off having 4GB instead of 8GB, as from 4GB, for what I do (only videos games...) it shouldn't really make any differences.

Still errors in memtest within minutes.
I'm only using 2 x 2GB kit, in order to make sure the 4 sticks doest not generate more problems.
NB is @ 1,4 (tried a bit higher)
DRAM @ 2,2 (tried a bit higher)
I've tried :
- FSB strap 333
- set up manually 1066
- set up the timings to 5 -5 - 5 - 15 and then 6 -6 - 6 - 16 like you proposed.
- fiddle around with
Static dram : disabled / enabled
OC charger : enabled / disabled
Perf lvl 8/10
Still these errors. I've tried to swap to another kit I got on a second computer that I've hardly used, same issue.
Do you have any config / parameters ? I don't really know what to do now, even after all I read on the net...
Try the 400 strap and perf levels 11-14. If that doesn't work, try the sticks on a system they are actually compatible with to rule out bad RAM sticks or bad DRAM slots.

I passed Memtest 86+...
by changing memtest version ?
Was using Memtest86_4.0a and got a lot of errors (cf previous posts)
Whereas now I'm using memtest86+-4.20 and I did not get any errors after 24hours of testing (17 passes).
Is that reliable, why in the world would I get errors with 4.0 and not with 4.20 ?

Always a good idea using the latest version of memtest, updated routies etc. You'll want to run HCI memtest though, memtest 86+ isn't reliable enough.

The free version of HCI can only test up to 1024MB per instance, so if you are using 8GB RAM you will need to run 8 instances of HCI all at the same time, setting each instance of HCI to test 1024.

Glad to let you know that I had no errors in your memest HCI, nor with memtest 86+, on top of that, memory @ 1066 5-5-5-15
I tried to increase the FSB to get a little more frequency out of it.
I'm starting slowy, at the moment I'm a 378 x 9 (3,4 ghz) Memory @ 1007.
It is stable on Prime95 24h, OCCT 24h and no errors on memtests as well as video games, so I assume it is good.
The only problem I've got is that I discovered that my computer is not able to restart.
When you restart from windows, the screen stays black, nothing happens.
I need to unplug the lead for 15 seconds to restart my computer normally (still OCed then). Then it is absolutely fine.
Cold boot in morning does work as well.
I went back to FSB 333 and stock settings, I am still experiencing this problem. I've just not realised before.
My PSU is brand new (RMA the other one 2 months ago, was dead), it's a Seasonic X780 GOLD.
The cable lead is new, changed it again though.
Everything is plugged where it should be (CPU... MB... ) it's easy to check for it's a modular.
I really fiddle around in the BIOS on various different settings, i'm a bit lost :

If you can't restart its a software issue, either format or run tools like tuneup utilities, pc doc pro 4.3, regcleaner and diskeeper.

In fact that the all computer that would not start (fans on, black screen nothing happens at all). There is no POST from BIOS whatsoever.

Sorry for reviving old thread, but how to replace memory tables in BIOS? Can somebody, please, add how to? I downloaded latest Maximus II Formula 2302 BIOS from ASUS site, extracted with MMTool 3.26 both ID15 Memory Sizing modules in uncompressed form and I can't add/replace them to P5Q-EM 2203 BIOS. Tried export/replace memory tables from modded P5Q BIOSes, same thing.
Any modded bios for the P5Q3? (Not deluxe)
