On rampage bios you can manually set PL level instead of maximus setting it for you, maximus relax level will raise or lower pl level depending on fsb/strap ect.
Rampage you can set regardless of fsb / strap to your liking, altho if you get it to low ( pL ) you will experience the det dram hang, this usally means your pL is set to low and you have to raise it accordingly.
Tony from OCZ did up a chart to explain all this along with a trd ( PL ) calculator.

Hope it helps explain it more clearly than I can
I think I have made it unhappy. It will now no longer run 3.6 at the previous settings...... Though it's hotter than hell in this room right now, which probably isn't helping things. It reboots under small FFT's in short-order, whereas before this was not an issue.
Could this be PL related?
OK, was able to get back to "page 2" of this saga. No reboots under small FFT's, but freezes/reboots under BLEND. I've said screw it for today and am back at 3.43Ghz rock stable.
I am taking over this thread! MWA-HAHAHAHHHAHA :D
But seriously, I tried something else:
Left EVERYTHING the EXACT same as I had it for 3.43 at 9x380
Changed it to 430x8
It has just passed BLEND no problem.
Maybe my CPU is just not comfortable (or the board?) at 3.6Ghz?
EDIT: The increase in FSB makes a huge difference in 3DMark! I went from 15,460 to 16,541!!!
Well, I tried your settings Grnfinger, but no love :(
I think I might need to give the CPU some more volts, but I'm sitting at 1.36 right now with 4.2GHz in Windows, so I think I'll just go with that for my 24/7. I could get the 10GHz bandwidth, but the CPU was getting pretty hot and wanted more volts to get stable.
Hmmm
Seems that the wording of stuff Tony from OCZ used is different from ASUS BIOS. So I guess I have my homework to do.
I bolted a 70mm fan from a stock AMD heatsink over the NB. It seems to have helped stability quite a bit, and temps are between the upper 30's and the lower 40's C.
No, I have not done that yet. But I really don't want to disassemble my system (AGAIN), so I may just say screw it and leave it at 3.45Ghz. It's happy here, NB is at 40C right now with both SETI and WCG running.
Mine is directly over the NB and not on the ram at all.
I just went water the other day, but I have found that now that I don't have any type of air flowing over it, it's just crazy temps on the NB. Later on tonight I'll be trying a Spot cooler... Before going water I had a Xigmatek S1284 with some delta 185cfm fans blowing threw the case.. But, the sound got so bad I went water.. Lol.. But, like I said I'll be trying the spot cooler later on tonight to see if I can get it under control... 56c isn't my favorite temp at 3.5...
Well now seeing as you went water might I recommend you invest a few dollars more and alittle time and grab one of these

I am in the process of moving and packing. I just moved everything out of my desk so I can sell the desk. Anyway, when I restarted I got the "CPU error" message I always get when I cold boot it. I went in to the BIOS to double check the settings before I started all the way up, and I noticed that Auto on the NB puts it at 1.65v. I thought it was running at 1.25v. lol So now it running at 1.65v with the 70mm fan and reaching only upper 30's C for the idle temp.
hello all,
finely i manage to get 9*400=3600GHz stable 24/7 OCCT 2.0+PRIME95.
but now i stock even if i rise 1MHz more, the board give me "DET RAM"/"VGA BIOS" errors.
